We had a very nice experience in this historic setting. This Hampton Inn includes a beautiful mansion atop a hill on landscaped grounds. You get the standard quality of a Hampton Inn with lots of added charm. The staff was friendly but not too knowledgeable about the local area.

A nice hotel, and out second visit, but we choose the manor house again, not knowing the rooms were so different, and we didn't feel the walk up the stairs only were worth the extra money, for the room available, the one lady who checked us in, told me the downstairs room was available for one night, and when we decided to take it she changed her story, (Cherie), not good to do that to customers, also your computer was broke for both days with no attempt to fix it, but the manager was very nice to allow me to use the office, the other room we took in the new wing was very nice and less expensive. No washer and dryer available, but if you love Civil War history, this a grate place, and is in walking distance of many sites, breakfast was very well done also.

Room tip: upstairs with table as soon as you get to top of stairs, but no elevators

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are pleased that, overall, you had a pleasant stay with us. I apologize for the confusion at check-in, our rooms can be booked in person, online and over the phone. I believe someone booked the room on the first floor before Cherie could place you in it. While it does not happen that way often, it does happen from time to time, especially on days when we are almost sold out. I am glad you were able to use the computer in our office. We had been working for over a month with the company that manages our guest computer security system, to have the computer fixed. It was a very long process, but please do understand that we called that company every day until it was fixed. We are happy to announce that we now have a brand new computer for guests to use. Thank you again for your kind review and we hope to see you again soon.

This is a Hampton the likes of which I have not encountered before, it is lovely! We had rooms in the historic house and not the main new block and both rooms were well worthy of a top flight boutique hotel, very spacious, great furnishings and aircon that you had to look for to see where it 'blowed', cunningly hidden in floor vents!

Staff are super helpful, go out of their way to help and advise on restaurants.

The hotel is close to the center, walkable and on the flat, but it is set in it's own substantial grounds and is quiet, we loved the beds and the linen here too - top notch.

Plenty of on site parking as you would expect and breakfast although Hampton Standard Issue is well put together, regularly replenished and frankly plain good.

Liked this Hampton a lot, professional and comfortable and most of all a real welcome surprise.

Room tip: Get rooms in the historic main house - loads of charm, spacious and character full.

The setting on a hill overlooking Lexington is great. Main house check in is historic and nicely decorated with complimentary tea and water. The room smelled like perfume that a lot of hotels are using now that makes me feel sick. Why do they try to cover up odors with awful smelling spray? The curtains in our room which you had to touch to look out were all sticky and dirty. Rooms are ok but bath needs updating. Breakfast is inedible. Not healthy or fresh. We were looking at Washington and Lee and could walk to town to eat and to the college which was a plus. Went to a healthy restaurant Blue Phoenix for lunch,

Thank you for taking time to let us know about your experience at the Hampton Inn in Lexington VA. We appreciate your feedback and will utilize the information to improve our product and service for future guests. Please accept my sincere apology for the smell of Febreze in the room. The scent is added to the room after a thorough cleaning. This is part of the required procedures at all Hampton Inns. We realize that some guests will not like this scent, as just like the sense of taste, the sense of smell is personal. I would suggest that you add "no scented fragrances" to your personal preferences in your Hilton Honors profile. All your future reservations will then have that information automatically added.

Thank you again for your feedback and for choosing Hampton.

Sincerely,

Jessica McCullough

Our daughter was married in Lexington and the bridal party stayed at the Hampton Inn. We had 3 rooms for our family and one room was in the Manor House. The Manor House room was very nice and comfortable. The other two "regular" hotel rooms were clean and the standard looking hotel room. One room could have used an upgrade on the bathtub, but otherwise was clean and nice. I would stay at this hotel again. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
