I went there this songkran break, and I like it very much there were nice service.
I went there with my family, and I was impressed with the room, and the swimming pool. The breakfast were good, and we can eat many food. There were many swimming pool, and it was so big.The biggest swimming pool is near to the beach, if we swim early in the morning or at evening we will see the sun rising, and going down. The hotel has a good amount of price per night it wasn’t too expensive. There were hotel service that we could go to the beach, and there will be a swing near to the sea, and in the morning the water will come up under the swing.

We have stayed in The Chill in February 2015 f0r 8 nights. we have decided to stay there after an extensive search for a nice, stylish and modern hotel in Koh Chang, and it seems to be the only one of its kind on the whole island.
The hotel consists of two buildings with about 30 rooms in each block - the downstairs - rooms have access to the beautiful pools, and the first floor roooms still have nice balconies.
Very close to the beach are three villas (which I would never recommend because the are very close to the restaurant and the public pool, and anyone can overlook the private garden of the villa and through the windows, you would have to have the curtains closed most of the time).
The whole place is very clean and very nicely kept. The rooms are spacious (though apart from a bed, some cupboards and 1 chair there is hardly any furniture - one might call this stylisch but we would have liked another chair or a little sofa) - but there is quite a cosy sofabed on each balcony. We had a room on first floor with no pool access, and we were very happy since we don´t want to swim before breakfast...
Be careful, the rooms close to the reception are in an area where the pool is very shallow, and that pool is not connectedt with the main pool, so you cannot swim to the main pool from these rooms. (The staff at reservation have been very fair and mentioned this while we were in the process of booking).
The beach is small but very nice, though the sea water was not clear at all during our stay.
Their breakfast is not a buffet, but you can order anything from the menu, any time of day - we prefer buffets but we did adjust to their type of breakfast and found it okay.
All in all a very nice and relaxing hotel with very friendly staff, but there were two problems:
- The sunbeds are extremely old and therefore very uncomfortable - you cannot stay on most of them for longer than an hour ... they are absolutely not to the standard of the hotel.
- The staff in the restaurant has no knowledge of english - which we know is common in Thailand and usually this is no problem for us, but in this case it started to get annoying - one had to wait for ages for every order (especially breakfast) and 50% of what wa served was not what we ordered.

The hotel is on Kai Bae Beach in the middle of the tourist village with many restaurants and bars (many of them were closed during our stay, though it was February), thank god not a lot of red light bars. Supermarkets are just 3 around the corner.
We went to White Sand beach and to lonely beach, and from what we have seen The Chill seems to be the best on the island.

Almost the perfect hotel experience. Great location, the beach is a little rocky but still very nice. At the hill of kai bae there's the best view of the island. The hotel itself has all the particularities of a great 5 stars hotel, quality at all level and top service, the staff is very professional and friendly. Breakfast was awesome, lots of variety, really impressive stuff.
The only negative point, if any, is that food and drinks are pricey at the restaurant, like 3 times what you pay on walking street. Thanks again for the wife's biathday cake it at the sunset, it was awesome! Great souvenir from the Chill!!!

Staying at The Chill is a like living in a dream, and one that you want to keep going and going.

My wife and me are now finishing a 7 night stay at The Chill with our three children, aged 7, 5 and just under 2. The Chill had everything we needed for a fabulous vacation.

Pros:
- The staff is super friendly and goes out of their way to take care of your every need
- The pool is probably the most beautiful I have ever seen, especially at sunset.
- The grounds and rooms are meticulously kept, the attention to detail is amazing, i.e., they even had pool and beach toys for kids for complimentary use, the towels are folded just so, housekeeping lites aromatic candles in your room in the evening, etc.
- The breakfast is beyond amazing - whenever you want it (7am-10pm!), and whatever you want in it, as much as you want it. Served fresh by the attentive wait staff, one of the better breakfasts I have ever had in one of the most breathtaking settings imaginable. Fruit Juice was freshly squeezed, plating was just right, and very clean - ate everything including raw vegetables for a week and none of my family of five had any stomach issues.
- We got two complimentary Thai Dinners for two at the Hotel Restaurant + two massages for booking directly with the hotel - the dinners were very good and the massage was terrific.
- Two very comfortable double beds in our room.
- Beach is idyllic and easily accessible.

Cons: (which were very minor)
- Water temperature takes a little more playing to get right
- Hotel Restaurant prices are about twice as high as restaurants in the area, though it definitely is a cut above and somewhat justified
- No elevator to second floor rooms

Overall, fantastic value for money and would recommend immediately and enthusiastically.

we stayed 3 nights in this hotel, and our stay was almost perfect apart from the loud music reaching the beach from the hotel restaurant. keep it off or very very quiet, some hotel guests prefer the sound of waves to sound of loud music. those who want to listen to music should use earphones. other than that it was a great stay an the hotel is nicely located -but the beach is not that great and you cannot swim in it.
