Having been to Las Isletas a few years ago, we wanted to go back as we had enjoyed it so much the first time. We booked through our hotel and our guide was great. It is well worth a visit (2 /3 hours) as it a relaxing way to see a different side of Granada.
Ask your guide to stop at a restaurant for lunch.... we ate at las Piratas! Highly recommended.

Could’ve done a group tour with guide for $100, or a private boat without guide for $50, but opted for private boat with guide for $140. Totally not worth it. Guide was very nice, but was only able to point at a few houses and say how rich the people were that owned them. Would have been better off just hiring a boat to one of the restaurants. The one we went to had a nice pool right over the lake, which was great to swim in with the kids while waiting for lunch. Also, “monkey island” is a bit of a letdown. It’s a tiny island with 3 monkeys who were put there by a local vet, and are so jaded by tour boats coming by every day that they often won’t come take any food. Very touristy experience.

The Islets were a nice way to spend a few hours while staying in Granada. We walked to the launch area and negotiated with a couple boat captains directly to fit our timing and interests (knowing some Spanish definitely helped!). It was a fun way to see some nature and view some wildlife (mostly birds). I wouldn't say it's a "must-do" or that it was amazing, but I would recommend if you have a few days in Granada.

Maybe my expectations were a little too high. My family and I have been lucky enough to travel some beautiful islets in the Thousand Islands in Canada and live on the coast of British Columbia with spectacular islands. The Islets of Granada are nice and offer some different flora and birds but we were told that we would be able to feed the monkeys on "Monkey Island". We brought some bananas and imagined a large enough island for us to walk on and feed the monkeys. I'm sure for safety reasons (both for the monkeys and people) they just try to get the boat close so you can throw food to the 3 fat monkeys that live on the little island. Our tour also included a stop on an island with a restaurant but it just felt like they were trying to kill time. Overall - just okay.

Volcanoes, birds, boats, people, food?? You find all these and more in this place. Beautiful Marinas, fishing...
Pictures say more than words.
