Try to go for the whole day to one of the resorts. It’s lovely to swim in the lake here and the vegetation is lush. Great way to get away from noisy Granada.

We took a carriage ride and the driver offered to take to catch a boat to Islets of Granada. It was a great experience. It was a tour for adults, but my children loved it. The tour guide spoke English and was very knowledgeable about the vegetation and history and what was on each little island.

We didn't get a chance to kayak there, but it looked like it would have been fun.

I highly recommend this if you are going to be in Granada.

TIP: If you are doing the one hour boat tour, ask your driver to wait for you so that you have a ride afterwards.

TIP: There are bathrooms across the street from where the boat leaves, but you have to pay for it, so have change or small bills just in case you need to use it.

We chose not to take a tour but do thus ourselves. So easy just drive from Granda along the lake where there are lots of boats for hire. We had a boat to ourselves and it was majestic. There's a tiny island with monkeys, lots of wildlife and the scenery is epic. We stopped at one of the many restaurants and drank a very cold bottle of beer, sitting overlooking the lake in the afternoon is a memory I'll cherish. The people were amazing welcoming and very friendly. An extremely pleasant boat trip that you need to do!

Nice tour of the islets with a guide to point out prominent owners and history. Had lunch on one of the islands before returning ashore.

Having been to Las Isletas a few years ago, we wanted to go back as we had enjoyed it so much the first time. We booked through our hotel and our guide was great. It is well worth a visit (2 /3 hours) as it a relaxing way to see a different side of Granada.
Ask your guide to stop at a restaurant for lunch.... we ate at las Piratas! Highly recommended.
