We were staying at Le Clos du Buis (highly recommended) in Bonnieux last weekend and on our final day, we were late back to the village after visiting the Gorge du Verdon and hadn't booked anywhere to eat. It was the Sunday eve and we thought we would try L'Arome across the road from the hotel, but it was full and they didn't offer waiting, the same applied to Le Fournil in the square above. We therefore tried La Flambee as a last resort, having eaten at 2 other village restaurants on the previous evenings (L'heure Bleu and Cesar which we will review separately).
Roundy didn't fancy pizza so wasn't keen, but it transpired that this restaurant had a couple of set menus which did not involve pizza. These cost I believe 18.5 euros and 25 euros (or similar). My mother chose fish soup which came with rouille, croutons and grated cheese, and then guinea fowl in wild mushroom sauce as her main from the cheaper menu. I chose the fois gras terrine and gambas from the more expensive, and Roundy himself selected the fish soup and the steak au poivre from the same. The pricier menu included an individual plate of 3 cheeses each (a goats cheese, blue cheese and a white cheese) as well as a dessert whereas the cheaper menu allowed for either cheese or choice of dessert.
Overall we felt the prices of the meals were very good value compared to other local restaurants (we had paid 35 euros for a 2 course set meal at Cesar the previous night with incredibly slow service and not a lot of ambiance). The staff were also friendly and helpful at La Flambee and the ambiance was warm and buzzing. They advised we would need to wait 10 minutes for a table as they were full but we didn't mind given the issues we had had, and in fact only had to wait 5 minutes. The food was all very tasty and nicely presented. I particularly enjoyed my terrine and large crevettes and my mother loved her whole meal. Roundy said his steak was fine if not the best cut but he wasn't complaining given the price. We were so glad we ended up in here, even if it was by default! Definitely worth a visit from our experience. Surprised by some of the less positive reviews below as they don't tally with how we found this restaurant.

We had the pizza here twice while we stayed in Bonnieux for a month. They have a great thin crust pizza with lots of different topings. The service was good both times and I would recommend it for a light meal.

Here you find the typical ambience with wooden beams and stone walls which is quite pleasant.
However both our dishes were very disappointing. The steak au poivre was quite bland. The roast lamb I had was too salty and overcooked.
We can say that the service was quite good.

4 of us having a week in Lacoste and travelled the 6km to Bonnieux. We came across La Flambe and decided to give it a try. Our waitress was courteous, pleasant and efficient and was attentive in every way. Our food was delicious, well cooked and well presented. Each if the four of us raved about our food and the fabulous house red. Only downside for us was that the restaurant got busy and one of us had to wait ten minutes extra for their main course but we all agreed that this wait gave us a nice little break in the meal and we ended up with room for pudding. Great value meal and would highly recommend.

We left here feeling somewhat underwhelmed. Unfortunately the upstairs terrace was closed due to high winds so we had to eat in the main dining room. The room itself is very pleasant but obviously lacks the beautiful scenic views.
We ordered pizzas and whilst they were alright that's all that can be said for them. My ham, lardons, pizza was very bland and only became reasonable after adding lots of chilli oil, and the 4 cheeses pizza my wife had was rather short of cheese and lacked flavour.
Overall I doubt we'd return given the many other dining options in Bonnieux but that said I'm sure that when the terrace is open it would be well worth going just for the scenic view.
