The hotel was very clean and basic as was our room .The bed was quite comfortable. However my daughter slept without her pillow as it was very hard. The curtains also would not close straight across so you would have a job to sleep on a lighter evening in the summer.

Very outdated hotel. Still in a 70's time warp.

The furniture, rooms, bathrooms, t.v's, phones, surroundings looked as if they had never been updated since the day the hotel was built.

Hotel in good position by the sea. Music good with plenty of lounges and library space.

However I was appalled at the food . Did not look appetising, taste very appetising or appealing. It was the worst I have had in all my years of travel. Very basic and I ended up with a banana and ice cream as the best option. Would eat out if staying here longer.

The coffee in the bar was nice.

We ended up here because of bad weather and had to stay overnight because our plane could not take off so we were grateful for the accommodation but it would definitely not be a hotel I would choose to go to again.

The staff however were very nice and very helpful in sorting out our pick up times back to the airport and they did put on a very basic early breakfast for us which was very kind of them.

We booked a standard room which was not very attractive. In the bathtub was rust.
We didn't want to take the room and finally we graded up to the higher room classification which was better (two rooms with small kitchen). Breakfast and dinner have been very simple. Breakfast was every morning the same. Scrambled eggs were not freshly cooked (convenience product). Coffee from a machine (instant coffee - very sweet). It was not our taste.
Dinner was o.k. but not special. Desserts (cakes, pudding etc.) were not self-made.
The garden was very nice with ocean view. Unfortunately the beach is not within walking distance (big vertical height for walking, better take the car - no sand, only pebble stone which is typical for Madeira).

Everything was all right except breakfast. We expected something better for breakfast, something regional in return we got something tasteless. Location is a big advantage. Room was spacious with nice view and beds are very comfortable. Very kind service !!!

Furniture in the rooms and bathroom are alright. Breakfast was basic, but very fine coffee!
Pity is the noise of the entrance doors in the buildings, closing with a big smash. Staff personnel is efficient but the lower personnel in the restaurant is not friendly, I think they're stressed especially when new guests arrive. Swimming pools are alright and enough chairs. At my request for another room because of noisy child in the room next to me, the lady of the staff promptly offered me another room. Great! Last Saturday the pool bar was closed all day, although the weather was fine and many guests around. I had to change clothes, go to the street for something to drink, because the inside bar opens only in the evening.

we found the breakfasts a little chaotic and the pools, both indoor and outdoor a little cool but in general our stay was good value for money. we dined at the restaurant across the road which we found to be excellent.
