Ubeda is full of history and old sites, but the El Postigo isn't one of them. A modern oasis in a fabulous old city which brims with history.... Modern, chic hotel with nice sized room with large comfortable beds, nice helpful staff and an underground car park just around the corner for 12Euro a night. There are a couple of small issues, which won't spoil your stay, but need attention from the management. In our room there was no full length mirror in the room - a major issue for the ladies! Also, the bathroom had no hooks upon which to hang towels, wash bags, etc. These are not show-stoppers but if the management were asked to stay a couple of nights in each one of their own rooms, they would soon find these a bit irritating! However, we had a lovely couple of nights in the hotel, which included finding a great little "pop bar" just round the corner for aperitifs/tapas.

Modern, clean and friendly hotel perfect location for walking around Ubeda. No car parking but public only 200 metres away. Parking 12€ per day. Restaurant not open on our stay, breakfast adequate. Would stop there again if in Ubeda? Yes.

Ubeda is an ancient unspoilt renaissance town with plenty to see. The hotel by contrast is modern, but lovely too. The outdoor pool in particular is a treat, and the price per night is competitive. Watch out if driving there - streets nearby are very narrow and busy, and to save the stress it'd be easier to park in one of the local underground car parks than find closer parking,

Ubeda is a wonderful old town, full of beautiful renaissance architecture. Walking the streets is like travelling back in time. But sometimes you don't want to travel back in time, and the Hotel el Postigo was a great break for us. The hotel is modern, clean and right in the middle of the old city. The staff was helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed the cool pool on a typically hot Summer day. Our room was very quiet and comfortable with a great shower and refreshing air conditioning.
Parking was a quick walk to the public car park.

Room Tip: A junior suite for a bit of a splurge.

The hotel is converted from a large house located in a traditional part of the town and very quiet. It is convenient for all Ubeda attractions and represents good value for the facilities on offer. Because it is converted rather than purpose built the rooms are of varying size. We asked to look at another room having been offered one room which was reasonably spacious but with little natural light. The second room was much better with plenty of space available. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom has a shower (no bath). No hair dryer in room but reception will provide one on request. A nice addition was the availability of a complementary bottle of water each day.
The whole hotel is also spotlessly clean.
Breakfast is pretty good with a range of continental style food on offer including breads, pastries, meat, cheese, yoghurts etc as well as juices, tea/coffee.
Overall the hotel offers very good value for money and is recommended.
