Friendly, well informed and well dressed staff welcome you, in English, and immediately make you feel at home. If your room isn’t ready (say you arrive early) then the pool bar/Restaurant awaits and they’ll bring you your key as soon as possible. Oh, and the poolside restaurant is hosted by the owner Sophie who again welcomes you and explains as much or as little as you wish. The pool is big enough for serious swimming alongside the relaxing bathers and the gardens are so nice and naturally shaded by olive trees and pines it’s hard to force yourself to stroll the seafront of Cadaques and its probably too hot anyway.
We opted for a sea facing room with balcony and as the hotel doesn’t offer dinner you can enjoy your own drinks taken from your room fridge and watch the sun go down before heading into town (10 minutes walk) to sample some excellent traditional and contemporary cuisine.
We look forward to returning and thoroughly recommend this family run establishment.

We have just returned from a 5-night stay in this lovely boutique hotel. Perfectly located in front of a small beach and within walking distance to the bars, restaurants and shops of pretty Cadaqués. The hotel has a lovely pool area with lots of sun loungers, deckchairs and hammocks under the shade of trees. Pool and beach towels are given free of charge. There is also a pool bar and restaurant serving lunch. Staff were very courteous and friendly from the minute we walked through the door until we left and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast had a small but good selection of bread, pastries and the usual hotel buffet breakfast options including freshly squeezed orange juice.
To get a sea view room I recommend you book early especially in high season. I booked 2 rooms in February for July and they had all gone!! We were given interior rooms with balcony which I was a bit apprehensive about, but actually they were lovely spacious rooms with simple modern decor, a great shower and lots of toiletries.
I would highly recommend the Playa Sol in this special small coastal village on this unspoilt northern stretch of Costa Brava.

This was our second year at the Hotel Playa Sol and it once again surpassed our expectations. You couldn’t fault any part of the hotel from the wonderful staff, amazing views, cleanliness, relaxed atmosphere and general professionalism.

In general Cadaques is an amazing experience which has escaped the branded world but yet is a culinary experience.

This family run hotel is perfect for families; great rooms, nice people, good food, best hosts. Located in the village of Cadaques its a "hidden gem". Hope to return for years to come, and hopefully, even well deserved, this review does not leave the hotel overcrowded :-)

An absolutely ideal stay in Cadaques! We loved our room (a family room, with a big bed and a twin for our son), which had a balcony overlooking the small cove in front of the hotel. Even with the doors opened, it was quiet and peaceful. So centrally located, just a short walk from the main square and many, many restaurants, bars, and cafés. The breakfast in the morning was delightful and plentiful -- lots of ham, chorizo, and sliced cheeses, plenty of breads and pastries, cereals, and yogurts, fruit, a fancy push-button coffee maker that will churn you out a latté or cappuccino on demand, juices... really quite generous and served in a lovely dining room. Beds were comfortable. Wi-Fi reliable. And the front desk friendly and very helpful, even offering to call ahead to reserve us day-of tickets for the Dali house in Port Llagat.

Only cons: The parking spaces under the building are laughably small, even for tiny European cars, and they ask that guests back into them (probably because they're near impossible to back out of), so prepare yourself for an epic 25-point turn when you do park. The pool in the olive grove is gorgeous (and it's nice to have a snack bar and access to ping-pong paddles and the like right there), but the water temperature was actually cold (even in the "hot tub"). But the lounges are pleasant to sit on to enjoy the outdoors.

Room tip: Ask for a sea view
