decided to go back to the rabbits last night with friends as haven't been for a while. i had had a bad experience last year when a relief chef was on and the ribs we ordered were awful. to be fair they apologized and gave us our dessert free.

Anyway this is a beautiful pub, having been refurbished the bar area and the restaurant conservatory etc are really lovely. Staff are very welcoming.

It looked as though the menu had changed and was in fact better. I opted for the lasagne with ciabbatta bread, salad garnish and new potatoes. it came up on a nice plate, potatoes served in separate bowl and the lasagne was in its own dish. Have to say it was the best lasagne I have ever tasted. Lots of garlic and herbs but really really tasty, my friend had the fish and chips and it was massive, she said the fish and the batter was gorgeous. food has definitely improved. the waitresses are very bubbly and polite. we then had the dessert. my friend had chocolate brownie and i had the eton mess, have to say i was dissapointed with this as it was literally meringue and fruit and a spoon of Chantilly cream. I would have again but would stress that I wanted more cream. Will definitely be going back.

This is the first time I have visited the Rabbits Pub. It was recommended by my Sister.
The service was very good and the food was excellent. It was well presented and the menu was different to the usual Sunday Roast with a number other selections. It is a family pub and the atmosphere was very good. If I am in the area I would certainly visit again. Please give it a try.

Sunday lunch with daughter and husband. Restaurant quite busy. Set lunch, roast beef with all the usual trimmings £14.95. Beef served just pink, tasty, potatoes small and burnt in places, Yorkshire pudding flat. Carrots, parsnips and kale all nicely cooked. Gorgeous square of stuffing. Tasty gravy.
Ice cream for dessert with a supposed hot chocolate sauce, which was actually a cheap cold ice cream sauce - really disappointing, so I asked for the hot chocolate sauce - expecting a thick fudge sauce but instead was served exactly the same sauce but heated in the microwave. When I asked for the sauce the waitress rolled her eyes behind my back!!! (My daughter saw).
Overall the food was acceptable (lovely chocolate ice cream - just don't have the sauce!). The rest of our party enjoyed their food - all had roasts.
However, the service was very slow and the tall, dark haired waitress was surly and unhelpful. The bill was £115.00 for four - including one glass of wine and 4 soft drinks.
This was our first visit here - and our last.
Overall, the food was quite acceptable
