The hosts were very helpful in suggesting wineries and restaurants in this historic area. They provided discount passes for the wineries and for Montpelier. The inn'a architecture and decor was outstanding, especially the 11 foot arched windows. Breakfast was delicious.

Mayhurst Inn is a wonderful place to stay while visiting Monticello, Montpelier, Ash Lawn, wineries and civil war sites. Innkeepers Pat and Jack are the best hosts I have experienced. Rooms are large, inviting and fully equipped. The grounds are beautiful. The history of the house is part of your stay. Breakfast was delicious and not overly gigantic. We loved our stay here and hope to return!

We stayed for a weekend and has a very comfortable room with a wonderful breakfast. The owners were very helpful in giving us suggestions and providing free coupons for wine tastings in the area. They also had wine and cheese offered in the evenings.

Room Tip: The grounds were pretty

We have visited Mayhurst several times over the years and have enjoyed this beautiful home every time. Jack and Pat are great hosts, always ready to serve you in anyway possible. Pat's three course breakfast gets you all set for the day to tour the many historical homes in the area......some favorites are Montpelier and Monticello. Each evening at 5:30 they have the wine and cheese time and they are always there to chat with their guests. Jack has a wealth of information on the Mayhurst's history and civil war sites. They have the menus available for all the local restaurants and are willing to make your reservations. Walking the grounds is wonderful, especially the trail around the pond.

Room Tip: there are four floors. Ground floor Garden Room is handicapped accessible. It is our favorite. The separate School House permits pets.
