We had a lovely time at the Mayhurst Inn, it was all we expected and more. The ambiance, the surroundings, just lovely. Our hosts are interesting and delightful and the food yummy! We can't wait to repeat our visit to the area and stay with them again. Thank you Pat and Jack! You truly went the extra mile to make our visit memorable!

My husband and I spent our 20th anniversary at Mayhurst Inn and loved every minute of it. The inn was beautiful and full of rich history. The service was excellent and very friendly. It was an oasis.

Sited in a magical location yet unexpectedly close to a major highway, nothing of the modern world is visible once one drives up the long gravel drive to a beautifully landscaped property. The historical elegance is maintained while all modern comforts are afforded. Hosts are gracious and informative yet never intrusive.

Civil War buffs: this is the place to stay!
My husband and I recently stayed in the "Southern Charm" room. The Mayhurst lives up to its description; the beauty of the home and the landscape is unsurpassed. There is an air of luxury to this B&B... the breakfast is gourmet, the decor of the home is well-appointed, and the grounds are picturesque. Jack and Pat have devoted a lot to their property and are very helpful. Without a doubt, the Mayhurst is a must. All I can suggest is: stay two nights.
*Note to Ghost Lovers: All I can say is.... After coming back from a fabulous dinner at the local "Toliver Restaurant" my husband and I walked the grounds in the moonlight. The house was locked up and we were completely alone. My husband heard distinct voices and I felt the presence of "something" - we tried to explain it away, but it continued... we finally went back in the house (had to ring the bell to get in, showing we were definitely the only ones around). Nothing "spooky" but very exciting!
This is a fantastic place to stay!
