We had a recent 3 night stay at this location. I will start with the negative, because there was only one. Our room could have used some cosmetic improvements, but nothing that affected our comfort or needs. Other than that, it was all positive. The room and the public areas were clean. The price was very reasonable especially considering the time of year (week leading up to July 4). The complimentary breakfast was quite good and the staff was very attentive to making sure to resupply anything that was running low. The best part however was the attitude of the staff. We did not encounter a single member who was not pleasant, and each appeared to be genuinely concerned that we were satisfied with our stay. The front desk staff was very helpful in assisting us with a particular need regarding parking, and were more than willing to assist us with trying to get a taxi when we ran into an issue with the Virginia Beach trolley. The sales manager was providing a hand during the breakfast hours and appeared to be genuinely concerned when she learned my wife was having health issues following an inpatient hospital stay the previous week and not feeling well enough to go to breakfast (or do much of anything else). She provided support to me with getting some food to our room, and made it a point to inquire about my wife each time she saw me around the hotel for the next 2 days. It's been more than a week since our stay, and my wife is still not feeling well (in fact, she just came home yesterday after another hospitalization). Because she was not able to enjoy herself on the trip, we have already discussed the possibility of another trip later this year once she is feeling better. We will definitely put Coastal Hotel & Suites at the top of the list when booking.
