Although there are some features of the “resort” that we liked (closeness to beach and shops, the staff was nice and we had access to the other 2 sister locations), it really was NOT anywhere near up to the price we paid for it. Kids constantly running up and down the hallway at all hours, the decor was old and outdated, the rooms were tiny and cramped, the parking lot had large potholes (although they were fixed halfway through the week), parking was very cramped and limited, and the maintenance left a lot to be desired. We had 2 rooms... one had no working air conditioner (on a week of 90+ degree weather), one had a bad fridge that didn’t stay cold, both had issues with the bathroom, and both were dirty.

As part of the rental we were charged a $65 fee for housekeeping... but... ummm... there was NO housekeeping - we had to take out our own trash to the dumpster and had to ask them for more trash bags (of which they only gave us 2), we also had to bring our towels down to the front desk ourselves to get them exchanged, and the towels at the pool were just a little bigger than hand towels.

At the same time, were charged a $100 deposit when we checked in... FOR WHAT?? We had already paid for the rooms in full. I question it and they said it was for incidentals, but there were no incidentals to buy... and I was told that they don’t just release the money when we check out they have to submit a refund which will take 5-10 business days to get back. Not cool.

I will NOT be coming back to this location again. NOT worth the money spent. The 2 stars was because the staff was nice when you talked to them.

We stayed here on a last minute reservation. We walked in and asked if they have available room. Erica at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We were able to check in at 130 on a Saturday. That in itself is impressive. The room is spotless. It has a living room with a pull out couch and TV. A small kitchenette with all utensils. The separate bedroom has a king size bed. Very comfortable bed and pillows.
The pool is in the middle of the lobby and while it was small it was clean. The small 6 person hot tub was also nice.
This resort is green. That means they’re big on recycling. There’s a central recycling bin in every floor.
It’s a short walk to the boardwalk. If you have a lot of beach stuff then a cart will be useful. You have to cross two streets to get to the boardwalk.
There’s no breakfast available but there’s coffee in the lobby. McDonalds across the street.
Plenty of parking.
Overall we had a very good time here. I wish we could have stayed longer. But we now know where to stay when we go back to Virginia Beach!!
Thank you Atrium Resort staff!!

My wife, our 2 teenagers, and I had an Amazing stay at the Atrium Resort July 30-Aug 2. The place seemed very clean on the inside. The outside could use a little work (no different than a lot of hotels). The inside decor was appropriate, warm, and comfortable. Some of the furniture in the lobby and the room were "older" however no stains or rips. It seems they have gone through a renovation, and it looks good. They are 2 blocks down and 1 block over to access the beach. Not a long walk, however if you need to wait at each crosswalk to get your signal to go; it could take awhile. They do offer some amenities that are consistent with a 3 star hotel. Such as, a pool, hot tub, fitness room (3 cardio machines), craft time for youngsters, and a laundry room with free washers and dryers. There is a restaurant/bar "21st Street Seafood" next door that opens at 7am for breakfast. It’s a typical beach restaurant feel (laid back atmosphere) with good food and seafood. Guests can save 20% with a card that you get at the front desk. The Atrium also had discounted tickets for local attractions. Perhaps one of the best amenities is having two sister properties in VA Beach as well. All guests can use the facilities of each of the resorts (Ocean Sands & Ocean Key). This came in handy to use other pools and to use other parking in VA Beach. All the resorts are similar in decor. The best part of the Atrium Resort was the staff. Thanks to Maxine, Janet, Ali, and the manager Bill for being so friendly and helpful. Also, the maintenance and cleaning staff were great. The staffs at the Ocean Sands and the Ocean Keys were also friendly and helpful. This was the best 3 star hotel I have ever stayed in.

Our stay for a week in mid July was a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely responsive to all our needs. We had a problem with the hot water It was fixed within 30 minutes. The crafts were fun and held the attention of our grandchildren. I made a lovely bracelet. The weather was perfect for the beach. There was a problem with the water that was fixed while we slept. It was communicated to us via notes under the door. The unit was very clean. Check in and out was perfect. Staff assisted us to get luggage in and out of our room. Beach and pool towels are provided 4 per room in an exchange program. We could not have been more pleased with our stay.
