Recommended length of visit: <1 hour
Owner description: Completed in 1715, Bruton Parish Church is open to visitors daily; however, in 2019, interior work will affect hours and cause closures. Signs outside and our website will have the most current information. There is no charge to enter and a CW admission pass is not required, but a donation of one dollar per person is suggested as you leave. As an active congregation, we close for tours during weddings, funerals or other scheduled services. A brief prayer service is held at 12 noon weekdays. Sunday services are at 7:30, 9:15 and 11:15 a.m. & 5:30 p.m. All are welcome. As of January 6, 2019 Candlelight Concerts are suspended during the interior work, as we prepare to install a new pipe organ. Be sure to visit the Bruton Parish Shop and Heritage Center, a block and a half west of the church, open daily, for gifts, books, jewelry, accessories and an exhibit of parish history with the original weather vane and 1907 bible.

Beautiful church. Members answer questions about the church and its members. Includes Presidents, Supreme Court justices and many other revolutionary leaders. Beautiful on the inside and outside.

We attended an evening choral program on palm Sunday. The music was beautiful and I enjoyed looking around the building during the service as well.

4 Presidents, 2 Supreme Court justices worshiped at this church on a regular basis. When the floor was replaced, 41 colonial graves were discovered. They identified what they could and just rebutted the ones they couldn’t.

A lovely old church with lots of American historical figures’ nameplates on the pews as well as inscriptions on embellished marble.

Very basic church nothing fancy at all once you’re inside. Obviously it’s packed full of amazing historical facts being the main church in Colonial Williamsburg, so in that respect very interesting.
