This is a large park with picnic tables, a playground, dog park and my favorite park a 2.6 mile easy walking trail that will take you all around the lake. the views are nice and the trail is well maintained. It was perfect for taking my dogs on an easy follow up walk after a not as much fun hike.

Beautiful state park off of the Chuckanut Byway. It was a pretty drive on the way up here from La Conner. The park itself has a few different entrances and trails you can check out. We stopped at two spots. We took the trail behind the big stage that goes under the railroad tracks. We had two choice and decided to try out both. The first trail, to the right, led down to a gravel beach area. Very peaceful and relaxing here with lots of washed up logs. The second trail went over to a rockier beach. There was a gentleman fishing at the base of one of the big boulders so we sat on top and watched for a bit. The water was so clear we could see the fish biting at his line about 30 feet out. After we finished here, we decided to check out the other trail across the street from a different entrance. Here you walked down quite a few step and crossed over a metal bridge to get to the trailhead. There were several offshoots here and we didn’t see any clear marking so I will admit we did get a bit lost. We made it to the railroad tracks and crossed over them until we found the trail down to the beach. Once we got there it was very serene. When we left we followed out another pair of hikers to make sure we were on the right trail. Note: if you see a fallen tree you haven’t gone far enough. Lol. We took a lot of pictures here and really had a lovely time.

We stopped here with my brother who lives in the area. It is a quick walk down to the beach. The views are amazing and the scenery is worth every moment. Make a stop here it is perfect even if you only have a few minutes.
