“Trailorama”

Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park
Reviewed 26 July 2017 via mobile

There are a plethora of trails in this area. Many of the trail heads have car parks and portapotties. We hiked Margaret's Way trail. It was a beautiful forest hike that was well maintained and signposted. It is an out and back trail of approximately 7 miles total. There is a loop trail of about 2.5 miles where the Margaret's Way trail ends. It has a moderate elevation gain of about 2200 feet.

There is lots of parking at the trailhead and port-a-potties. The trails are nicely maintaining with lots of trail markers. There are plenty of trail choices from easy to challenging.

We did a 1.3 mile loop near the trailhead with our small kids and only ran into one other person.

We parked at the Harvey Manning Trail Head and quickly realized that we could spend all day (or more!) exploring the trails. We did a short (but Beautiful) forest trek (low difficulty), and were very impressed by the clear, well-marked trails. We will certainly be back!

Beautiful early morning walk, we got there before the crowds and thoroughly enjoyed the trails we went on. We spent 1.5 hrs here but could have easily sent the whole day exploring. Trails are well maintained, not to hard. We had our young kids with us and they found them manageable.

Part of the Issaquah Alps - a large number of well maintained trails - most of which are all season.
