staying for one night. Love the style of the house, paint on the wall, curtain, etc. the great location, nice garden. just don't like the personal pictures in the room. It makes me feel someone is looking at us.

Stayed for one night in the E. J. Roberts suite recently while on a road trip vacation. The mansion was fairly easy to find using the directions provided to us via e-mail. A beautifully kept, relatively small mansion to stay in, which was a very enjoyable place to stay the night.

We arrived early, so parked at the Mansion and walked to Downtown and back (an easy jaunt).

Once we got back, we were given a nice tour of the old home, and were given restaurant suggestions by the hostess. After supper at a restaurant around the corner, we played a round of pool in the basement.

There is no TV in the room, but that is not the point of staying here. There was A/C in the room, which was helpful in the middle of the sweltering heat of summer. Down the hall was a sort of a sitting room with a bar fridge, microwave, and a few other amenities available to all guests.

I would stay here again, and would recommend to anyone wishing to stay somewhere a little more unique than the big box hotel.

We stayed in the Rose Suite. The bathroom is in miniature. The tub and shower are almost impossible to use. You have to turn off the water to scrub up. We put our sign out to clean the room and it never got cleaned. No one is around and paying attention, however, the house is beautiful and the yard is a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine and cigar. The best thing about it is it is right next to Brownes Tavern, which has great food, great service and good beer.

We were lucky enough to stay at the Benny and Joon house which is part of the Roberts Mansion property located in nearby Peaceful Valley on the Spokane River. This house was featured extensively in the 1993 movie starring a young Johnny Depp. The owner has left a DVD of the movie for viewing, and duplicated touch and feel of the movie. It's a quirky, but charming house. The back porch facing the river is a great place for a morning coffee or afternoon glass of wine. We completely enjoyed our stay at the Benny and Joon house. The manager Christy made us feel welcome and was accommodating. We enjoyed quiet nights of sleep in the full sized bed - not a queen or king. There is also a nearby garden to enjoy and you never know what you might see on the River - maybe an osprey or ducks. We would stay at the Benny and Joon house anytime we are traveling to Spokane.

Room Tip: This is an apartment/house and not a hotel

We wish we had booked longer than one night in order to fully appreciate this romantic home and our luxurious retreat in the Mary Tracey room. The details of the restoration are superb and we felt like the opulent wealthy in these graceful spaces. Lovely staff, easy parking and close to many good restaurants. The Brownes Addition area is a walk back in time and yet still so close to downtown. Do stay here and avoid the drab mediocrity of hotel rooms.
