Review of Thorp Mill

Thorp Mill

We learned a lot from the docent and it was interesting to see how the mill changed over the years. Beautiful old wooden machine cases were being lovingly polished when we arrived. We enjoyed the exterior walking tour too and learned a lot.

Located in a beautiful area and very nice free self guided tour. Why not spend ten minutes walking around the nice preserved historic mill ?

I have driven on I-90 hundreds of times and finally took the time to go to the old grist mill in Thorp. It is so worth the few minutes drive off of I-90! There is a docent to answer all of your questions, but the one we had allowed us to wander on our own. For the photographer, there are opportunities to take close up pictures of some pretty cool old pieces of equipment. The small grounds around the mill are pretty, too. Food was not available for purchase at the mill, but they did have cold bottled water for sale. For food, go back to the fruit stand. It is definitely worth the trip.

Thank Annette M
