My husband and I had never been to a B&B and decided that we would give it a try. Boy did we luck up! Marie and Donn were so kind and welcoming. Marie met us at the door with brownies and shared the history of the home and the town (who knew George Washington had so many brothers??).We stayed in the Cooper Beech suite and it was perfect. The breakfast was DELISH and was brought to the private sun porch off the suite (thank you Breakfast Fairy). We hope to visit again and highly recommend- you will not be disappointed!

We LOVED having you guys! You are going to be "hooked" on the Bed and Breakfast experience! Someone gave us a getaway to out first B & B, and our "addiction" led to our eventually buying The Carriage Inn B & B! It MIGHT happen for you! In any case, we LOVED introducing you to B & B life and appreciate your kind words so much! We look forward to welcoming you again!

Great surprise to find such a wonderful place in Charles Town. Lovely people, excellent breakfast, very nice space in Carriage House Suite. Even close to racetrack! Definitely will stay again on next visit to area.

Nearly 180 year-old house on the main, historic street of Charles Town. The breakfasts were incredible and different each day. My wife has a gluten intolerance and Donn and Marie accommodated that wonderfully. We stayed in the Robin's Nest on the top floor, and though it felt less like the historical decor of the rest of the house, it is quite spacious. It was less than 20 minutes from vineyards, a distillery, a brewery, and Harper's Ferry (we did all of the above). If you are looking to do any of the above and want a cozy place to rest, with wonderful hosts--STAY HERE.

We had a lovely 2 night stay here. Donn and Marie were delightful. Breakfasts were wonderful. The room and common areas were clean and nicely appointed. The house has so much history. It's really kind of mind-blowing. I hope to visit again and highly recommend.

Room Tip: Garden View room was very nice and quiet.

Being a history buff it's been 35 years since I traveled to this area after having moved to Seattle 30 years ago. My wife decided to plan a trip to several historical sites around Charles Town. She let me know about a few of the prominent historical figures who have been in this household but was blown away when i was informed by Donn that Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson, US Grant, Sherman, and more had been in the house at one time or another. It's a lovely house with a beautiful room and the hosts Donn and Marie were great. We had a beautiful breakfast and conversation two mornings in a row.

We love to hear that you were as pleasantly surprised as we were when we learned the history of this home! It is pretty exciting to walk where these men of history walked and talked! Thanks for your kind review and supportive words! We hope you will return to the East again soon! ALL THE BEST!!
