Me and ny wife spent a great time in this place. After having rode several miles along the Greenbrier Trail it was so comfortable to relax at it. Moreover, we could enjoy the outstanding hospitality of the innkeepers, Larry and Paula, as well as we had such great conversations with them.

Room Tip: The independent bungalow behind the house offers a lot of privacy and superb views.

It was fun and relaxing to spend two nights in this 1900-era home, in the quiet little village of Dunmore, WV. Paul and Larry are wonderful hosts, making us feel like family; and Barron, their little dog, was calm and friendly and obeyed his masters' instructions to not "intrude" into the guests' areas.

Being a seasoned B&B guest, I was disappointed in my stay. Upon arriving I went to the front door. My first impression looking up & around was how many webs, bugs, & dirt there was from ceiling to floor. A good sweeping & power washing would take care of this. We stayed in the smoke house, where again insects galore around the door & awning. We shared the room with several flys & ladybugs. The room was pleasant, but, the mattress was hard as rocks. I was surprised the bathroom was corralled in a corner with no ceiling. No privacy! The coffee, sugar, sweetener were kept in Tupperware containers with spoons that past guest most certainly have touched. The room & bath were clean. As for breakfast....small dish of pears with yogurt, 4 sausage patties from a local butcher that taste like it had a filler. Followed with a pan of dry oatmeal with apples, that was suppose to be a casserole. When the dishes were cleared, my husband was asked if he was going to eat the last patty. He responded, "No". I was surprised when the innkeeper stated she would eat it later. There is no TV, which would be a plus for weary travelers who don't want to drive 30 mins to an hour to find something to do. There is WiFi. The owners are pleasant & friendly. The atmosphere inside the main home could use some TLC. The once formal areas of the home, parlor & dinning rooms are now used as bedrooms with the same no ceiling corner bathrooms. Would we go back, no. We didn't get what we paid. Very disappointed!

We rented the upstairs Griffin room with a queen size bed and daybed with trundle and a private bath with corner shower. The room was a nice size, very clean, with a nice counter top for luggage. One change from on-line photo, the two single chairs & end table have been moved to the common room downstairs and a single rocker is in it's place now. When we arrived, the windows were open and the ceiling fan was on for our comfort. The room did get a little warm for our taste, we like a very cold room for sleeping but was remedied by turning on the fan. Breakfast was very nice with generous portions including a meat which is very important to my carnivore hubby. I was a bit put off by the yard which was overdue for mowing, and was a little confused on which door to enter since there was no clear sidewalk from the marked guest area but was pleased with everything else and would stay here again when we visit Cass Scenic Railroad when they open their new tracks in 3-4 years. Note, no frig in room but there is a frig in common room with complimentary cold drinks and hot water and tea bags available. Paula and Larry are great hosts and are worth getting to know.

Room Tip: We choose an upstairs room for a quieter room. Area and road is very quiet so imagine any room woul...

I'm a landscaper and arborist by trade, first thing was lawn hadn't been mowed in a while. The room we stayed in was the Allegheny Ridge Guest House, it was very nice inside. We thought that the taped paper on the walls for telling you what the lights go to was a little much. I'm clearly old enough to know how to find out what light I want on. There was a coffee maker in the room but the coffee was in a container were every other person has used, the spoons were the same. The nights sleep for us was very bad, the bed could had been a piece of plywood couldn't had told the different! Breakfast was good and the folks who were there with us to eat were very nice, as was the owners of the B&B. Only wish we could had got a good nights sleep!
