We have be going here for 6 years, great food and great service. Well tonight was a different story. We were seated by our waitress and she ask if we want something to drink, which is fine, before we even got our coats off she asked if we were ready to order. Advise to give us a few minutes. She brought the drinks and asked if were we ready to order advised to give us more time. It took 10 minutes to get water, chips and salsa, which you normally got with in 5 minutes. She took our order, brought us our food, but never gave us silver ware, She never came back to see how the meal was. We would have liked another drink, Finally she came back when we were done we asked for the check, she never asked if we wanted a box. Wait staff is not very friendly, They walk past and we couldn't get their attention for another drink. We are going to find a new Mexican place.
The food is great, but the service has been going downhill the last couple of visits.

Thought we would try El Sarape again, last time we were there in the summer of 2015 the service was bad. Well, the service hasn't changed a bit. Food was good, the service was terrible. Waiter dropped off the food and never was to be seen again, I went up to the front desk to ask for our check. Wont go back, get better service at Los Magueys or El Jaripeo

Exterior was gorgeous, kitchen looked amazing, interior was warm and cozy. Upon being seated we were handed menus by a silent old dude with earbuds in. Then another waitress came by and politely asked us if we would like to order. We took a little while to look at our menu and ordered when a third waitress came by and asked us. Food took 20-30 minutes to arrive, which would have been fine if threre were more than 2 seated tables there. My burrito was soaked and warm-ish. There was about an inch of green liquid at the bottom of my plate which resembled hot sauce but turned out to be cold water with a little chili paste mixed in. There was American cheese melted on top, which was the case for 3/5 of their menu. The meat smelled like cat food, but tasted really good. There was a chunk of gristle in there about the size of my heel(only gristle found). My coffee was served in a chipped mug with the word "believe" written on it everywhere. The salt shaker was an empty bottle of corona. Resturaunt has great potential, just needs a little effort.

I was in the city doing some business so decided to stop in for lunch. Food was very good along with the prices. This was only the second time I've been here but would stop in again. Worth your time to stop in for lunch or dinner.

In Green Bay for a Packer Game and our hotel recommended El Sarape for a strong margarita and good Mexican. This place did not disappoint. Our waiter Ben has been so pleasant and the Sarape margaritas are great. I recommend, stop by for a quick bite to eat and a good drink.
