Cool building. Excellent crab cakes and tomato basil soup. Service was a little on the slow side considering it was after the lunch rush , there were only 3 tables with customers and 2 waitresses.

Their food is always wonderful. I have never had a bad meal there yet. I have been there for both lunch and dinner. It is fabulous. Aaron Rodgers used to go there a lot also. I am not sure if he still does, but even without him there, it is one of the best restaurants in the Green Bay area.

Great gourmet food served in an historic building. You might see some Green Bay Packers there! Truly fine dining

Honestly speaking we don't normally have to pay when we go here as it's a good gift certificate place! Normally we couldn't afford to go here often but if we had a good month or a special occasion, they definitely have some great menu options and drinks that will make anyone blush. Normally I go with the seafood options and have never been disappointed.

I'd dined here for lunch years ago, not long after the restaurant first opened and was impressed. My second visit this week was a disappointment.

Parking was a problem on Thursday evening. The lot is paved, but there aren't any designated spaces, so patrons park hodgepodge and take up more room than necessary. You might have to park down the road and walk up the hill.

We'd made reservations for five and were seated immediately. The wooden chairs have no padding on the seats or backs and are very uncomfortable. I wonder if this is intentional, to create vacant tables more quickly.

The air conditioning didn't seem to be working properly. Four of five in our party complained about the uncomfortably warm temperature in the restaurant.

Hubby and I had eaten late lunch a couple hours prior to arriving at Chives and weren't very hungry, so we decided to split an entree. The restaurant charges an unheard-of $6.00 split fee to cut a burger in half and double the fries.

The hamburger was one of the smallest I've ever seen served anywhere. The bun overwhelmed it. Maybe the pile of lettuce leaves accompanying it was supposed to be an equivalent substitute for beef.

The garlic fries were excessively garlic-ky, and the ultra slim cut ensured they were cold long before you could eat them. On the plus side, the chicken goat cheese wontons were very tasty, and they make the French onion soup with Gruyere cheese instead of mozzarella.

Service was incredibly slow. We waited about 45 minutes for our entrees. Menu prices are higher than most area restaurants. Based on all the negatives we encountered this time, there won't be a third visit.
