Stopped in here based on Trip Advisor reviews and man am I go see did. This place is awesome! Started with a liter of the Heffe Weizen and the giant pretzel. The beer was crisp and the pretzel with mustard was just like I've had in Munchen. They actually import them directly from there. Had the Weiss Wurst as my entree with sweet mustard. Delicious! My son had a liter of root beer and it was every bit as good as the beer! The place is laid out similar to a German beer tent and offers community seating. We went during lunch and it was pretty busy but the food still came out pretty fast and the waitress was very attentive. If I'm back in Milwaukee this place will be on my list of "must eats."

The menu primarily includes German and American pub fare. The Leberkäse we enjoyed was very tasty and the beer selection good, but the small wait staff was substantially overwhelmed during the early dinner shift on a Saturday. They will take reservations, but only for large parties.

A great place to grab a beer downtown! There are a few tables on the sidewalk, and a modest beer garden in the back, with lots of tables inside. Great pretzels and German beer. There were a number of bars nearby, but this seemed to be the most popular and I can see why.

The Hofbrau House is a great place for simple German food in an extremely social environment. Pries are very reasonable. Get a large beer at lunch and get free food. Servers are incredibly friendly. Only shortcoming is the menu is a little limited but the daily specials are great.
