“I forgot what beer farts smell like. Until now.”

I stopped for dinner before a concert.

Parking: I parked in a structure one block east on the North side of Wells. Rates were reasonable.

Accommodations:
The accommodations are close. The sign said Max capacity 250, I don't see how that's even possible. There is a bar with stools, and tables with stools in one room or sit at dining tables and chairs in a separate room. Public toilets are clean but could use more air freshener or ventilation to manage the skunk of beer farts.

Drinks:
The usual fare. Alcohol plus Pepsi products.

Food:
Made at the Safe House around the corner and connected for the staff. The menu here is limited, four items. The burger was delicious, the fries okay.

Service: service with a smile! Thanks Tommy!

Thank Laura M

We stopped at the Newsroom Pub prior to an event at the Pabst Theater. It was really cold and windy outside, so that made this place even more convenient for a tasty beverage prior to our show. When you enter the bar from Wells Street, there is the bar area and then seating on the right. There was no waitress service, so we went to the bar to purchase our drinks, and then took them into the other room where there were open tables.

The Newsroom is connected to the Safe House, and there is a video feed into the bar to watch the Safe House patrons going through their admissions screening prior to entering. That is always fun to watch! The cocktails are good, in the $9-10 range, domestic beer is $5.00, and wines are $7-10 per glass. It was a great place to hang out for an hour!

No idea how to make a Martini. No dry vermouth. No mixing glass. No strainer. Friendly staff though.

Nice place, super friendly staff. Cool decor with lots of famous signatures. Great location if you have some time to kill before seeing anything at the Pabst.

I had a few drinks here at 'The Newsroom'. There are lots of unique signatures and pictures of famous people who have stopped in. It is near the Safe House.

It is nice inside and service was good.
