We were two couples, and could not have enjoyed the Cothren House more. We appreciated especially things like the k-cups being supplied for the coffee maker, the easy availability of the manager to top off the supply of bath soap when needed, and the overall welcoming atmosphere of the place. When we had dinner at one of the restaurants in town, the restaurant owner spoke so highly of Lisa, it made us especially glad we stayed at her place. The House is an easy (1/4 mile more or less) walk to the downtown (although there are hills involved) making the convenience factor very high. "Cozy and amazing comfortable" are great descriptors. You can't cook there, which was just fine with us -- keeps you from having to get into survival mode when you want to be relaxing; and there are plenty of good places to eat in town that won't bust the budget, if that's a concern. I'm sure we'll be back again and again. We find it hard to understand why Mineral Point seem to be so underappreciated, especially with great places to stay like this one. One tip: Your ATT wireless service will be virtually useless in this part of Wisconsin. Plan accordingly.

This cottage provided a great location and a cozy, comfortable stay. It is about a 5-10 minute walk (with some hills!) to town. Everyone was extremely friendly and the town had great restaurants as well as a nightlife. We will definitely be coming back!

We spent memorial weekend at the cabin, and loved it. Very charming and romantic. Was everything we read about, Very nice, cozy, romantic, charming. Just loved it. The stairs took sometime getting use too but we managed and had a great time. Loved mineral point the people their were all so nice, can't wait to visit again some day. Cothren Cabin is a great place to reconnect with that someone special, or just by your self to get away from it all, forget the phones, internet and t.v. just enjoy. Thank-You

I totally agree with Kate A.'s review. This is a nice spot for a girl's get-away. Comfortable sitting room for chatting and catching up. There were no coffee cups or glasses in the cottage, we had brought our own so that wasn't a problem; if we had asked, the owners would most likely have supplied what we needed.

The Cothren Cottage is the perfect get-away for a couple. When we arrived we were greeted on the front porch by the sweetest little gray cat. That really added to the charm! The cabin is very well maintained and clean. It's great that the owners have been able to add modern amenities without taking away from the authentic charm. The bed was very comfortable! But, the stairs coming down are a bit tricky... if you get up to go to the restroom in the middle of the night, be sure to put your shoes on so you don't slip on the stairs. They only suggestions I have are to put non skid strips on that last step, have a remote for the DVD player so you can skip through the previews and to put a mirror in the bathroom that is more functional rather then decorative.
