I was amazed by the service, but the food was absolutely scrumptious. Went into the bar/restaurant area, but I saw they had a little takeout area too. My son played on a PAC-man machine inside. Good to see the classics, and it was reasonably priced. Maybe a little expensive.

The North Lake Inn is known for their pizza and other Italian foods. But, their Friday fish fries are also very good. Besides the usual Cod, they also offer Walleye. The fish fries is not served family style but there is too much food on one plate for most people to eat.

Visited last Saturday night. Great thin crust pizza with just the right amount of quality toppings. Great garlic bread as well but you get just 2 pieces of large bread but you may want more if you have 4 people.

The North Lake in is a nice bar/restaurant that features Italian Food and is also known for their pizzas. They offer nightly specials and we recently went for the Lasagna. For $15.50 you get a full square Corning Ware (TM) dish of lasagna, soup, salad, garlic bread and spimoni ice cream for dessert. The lasagna alone is enough to feed an army, and it is very good, with a great sauce, lots of cheese and mushrooms. The garlic bread is swimming in butter, and the soup and salad are also very good. I've also had pizza there and several other dishes in the past. The front room is a large bar with a few tables, and there are two back dining rooms. While the food is wonderful, the service leaves a lot to be desired. In all my visits, they act like they couldn't care less if you want to eat or not. If you're lucky enough to get one of the waitresses to see you at the hostess stand at the rear of the bar (they have no hostess), then you can either snag a table or let her know you're waiting (they have no waiting list). Once seated, the service is good, although the waitresses are anything but friendly and don't engage customers at all. Again, it's as if they really don't care if you're there. The one thing that has stood out above all else in all my visits there --which is also one of my pet peeves with any restaurant-- is that when you're finished and ready to go, the waitresses never come around to let you pay your bill. On this last visit, I finally went to the bar and paid, and found this really irritating. It negated all my feeling about the good food. I've always said the good service can make the worst meal better and similarly poor service can ruin a good meal--unfortunately the North Lake Inn continually reinforces the latter.

Ate here tonight for the first time with my wife. High hopes....dashed! Strange service. Extremely slow service. We both had the fish fry (Cod). The fish itself was ok. But the bread, potato cakes, and cole slaw were not worth eating. We both said we would not be coming back. The fish fry at On the Rocks in the Village of Merton is much better.
