Clean as a record machine -- Boomers will embrace this place. Perfect escape for people who knew and grew in Fabulous 50's, 60's or 70's. A stay at the Holiday Music Motel is like stopping on a road trip, back in the day -- and everything from the ambiance, decor and price is right!
Only difference is Modern AC, quiet as cool cat. Central air, not some noisy window unit, Makes sense at this motel,,, Because the place is cool! Like WOW -- with three O's..
The staff is wonderful, the rooms are a scene, and comfort level is a dream.
Only a block from downtown shopping, dining -- and thirst quenching. Important in Wisconsin when a cold beer or a glass of wine is so often on your mind.
And there is nothing suspect about the retro-rooms, more often than not -- the vintage is authentic, but again beyond well-kept.
What more can one say --- Just give it a Stay!

Room Tip: Book early --

We visited Door County for a week in mid-April 2018, right in the middle of that historic 130 year snow storm, to look at properties to consider for purchase. We decided to stay at this non-cookie cutter motel, because we like unique, unpredictable and non-corporate chain types, whenever possible.

Sturgeon Bay was our base area for looking at properties, so this motel was located in the perfect spot! It was also just a block from the Sturgeon Bay canal and one (most westernly) of the bridges.

The people who work at Holiday Music Motel are very friendly and helpful. We didn't get in from our Seattle --> Milwaukee flight until 11pm. No problem, they had an envelope with our name on it at the office door so we could self check-in.

The room was very unique, done in 1950's retro theme, with furniture, lamps, phone all being throw back to the 50's. The room itself was obviously remodeled in recent years, so it wasnt dated or worn, and the mattress/bedding was fortunately not vintage, but very comfy!

On day 3 of our 5 night stay, there was a 2 day snow storm in the area. Although the roads piled up with snow that Saturday and Sunday, we were still able to get around to many coffee shops, cafes and taverns day and night. We even crossed the bridge on foot when there was at least 24" of snow to have pizza at Sonny's!

They had snow plow services plowing the drive as soon as they could and we were good to go by Monday AM when we checked out and were on our way.

We would definitely stay there again when visiting and highly recommend it to anyone looking for something funky/different than the predictable corporate chain motels.

Room Tip: We prefered the upstairs (2nd floor) for view and to be above the parking area.

Loved this little place! Very cozy, friendly people and walking distance to everything in Sturgeon Bay. He diner was self-serve for breakfast, right down the hall. Our dog Max stayed with us for a mere $8, and the room itself was under $100. We shall return!

I have stayed at the Holiday Music Hotel many times, and it just keeps getting better with each stay! From their mid century motif to the free breakfast in the diner, to the very comfortable and clean rooms. And let’s not forget the music! The lobby is filled with different instruments that you can play, or maybe find some other musicians to play along, in any case you’ll have a ball.
