We got tired of paying exorbitant amounts at the Jackson hotels, so instead we stayed 90 minutes away and saved almost $300/night. Yes we had to do some extra driving, but you go through a series of national park areas, with lovely landscapes and the occasional wild animal. The room itself was sparse but clean, and who needs anything else when you're out traveling most of the day?

The real surprise was the restaurant, which has a terrific, original menu, and a lot to choose from. It's attached to a bar area, but it's incredibly family-friendly, and we ended up eating there two nights in a row.

My wife and I got married at LML 8 years ago, and we've been returning year after year! The staff has changed little in that time, so we're always addressed by our first name and treated like family. We've called when running late and they've kept the office open and even kept food in the kitchen for our arrival. How many places ask where you're taking your snowmobiles so that they can come looking for you if you're not back for dinner? Only LML! Speaking of snowmachines, LML is just off the PB trail, which gives you about 10 miles of almost private trails and powder! Where the PB links up with the CD trail have very little traffic compared to Togwotee and Union Pass. I remember in the 70's and 80's when all of the other places were still privately owned...not anymore; Now, you're just a number. The breakfast buffet is awesome and dinner is amazing. The bar is always a hoot...and we don't even drink! In the summer you've got trails for the ATVs closeby, and it's a great stop on the motorcylcles! You'r elikely to find a mint on your pillow unless you bring your own. But if you want a FUN family friendly place for any season, this is it!

Room tip: The motel rooms are basic and inexpensive, but every one will give you immediate access to you bike, sled, etc

We stopped in for a night at Lava Mountain on the way to the Tetons; cheaper than hotels in Jackson by far. The room was very basic but functional and clean. Staff was helpful and it was convenient for the drive to the park the next day. Attached store and bar were great for last minute purchases, including beer! No breakfast included.

Stayed withy family in the inexpensive grizzly cabins. Cabins are closed to the Tetons and def a great place to stay and save some $$ with lodging outside the park. We commuted to Yellowstone and while we had an awesome time, it made for very long days. Cabins were clean, guest can use coin showers facilities too etc Everything is very clean. Restaurant serves pretty good pizza too! Overall, we would def return for 2 nights and use as a starting point into the area.
