Our family stayed at the Dubois/Wind River KOA in mid-June. I was pleased with the spacious camping & parking space, the clean bathrooms, the swimming pool, and the kind hosts (well, initially, anyway). The one event that really irritated my husband and me was the fact that the hosts had mentioned a camp "ice cream social" that evening. When my sons and I arrived at the designated place, I was ticked to see that they had a sign posted $1.00/ice cream scoop (vanilla only) and they charged more for toppings! I could have ran down to the little grocery store and bought an entire half gallon of ice cream for less than they were charging! But what really made me livid was the principle: the staff made it sound like the ice cream social was a kind gesture on behalf of the campground, rather than the crooked money making scheme it really was. My two young sons had waited all afternoon and part of the evening to get ice cream. Imagine their disappointment walking away.

This was our first stay at a KOA and we left very impressed! We chose this area to break up our trip from Colorado to Grand Tetons and Yellowstone and we were so happy we chose this spot. Every person working was super helpful and very friendly. The staff would drive around and deliver firewood to sites. We had a popup tent camper and we stayed at lot 36, which was a lot backing up into the river. These lots are very close together, but we didn't mind given the view we had of the river and the ample grassy areas at these lots by the river. If you have young children, you may need to worry about the river being so close. Our kids are 12, 10 and 7 so there was no worry of them falling into the river accidentally. I might not recommend these river sites if you have a toddler. The bigger RV lots were mostly gravel, but the tent area (while not private), had large grassy lots for tents. Our kids enjoyed the swimming pool and playing at the park. The entire KOA was clean. After our visit at this KOA, we would consider staying at other KOAs in the future. The lots are more expensive, around $50 for a space with electric and water hookups, but we found it worth it given there were showers included in the price, a pool and outside area for kids to play after sitting in the van all day traveling to Grand Tetons and Yellowstone.

My family of six stayed in the deluxe cabin. We were right by the Wind River. The cabin was very nice and clean. We were very pleased. The workers were very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. There is an indoor pool and game room that my children loved. We would stay here again if were to go back to this area.

We stayed 1 night in a full service RV site; we arrived at about 8:30 and the evening front desk woman was really having a hard time figuring out how to find our reservation. We had hoped to walk into town (only a few blocks) and get a bite to eat but the time we were able to get our RV site info, it was 9pm and apparently everything in DuBois closes at 9. That said the RV park has large sites, fast free wifi, there's a creek running through and the shower house is in good condition. The cabins look great as well. We would stay here in the future for sure, but would try to get here earlier so our check in process might go more smoothly.

Kabin w/o bathroom. Clean and beautiful views. We learned how to say "DU-bois(boys)". The facilities were clean and staff wonderful. This KOA is just south of Yellowstone with breathtaking views of hills, mountains and live stock. There are also famous dude ranches nearby like T-Cross Ranch; the owner gave us an off season tour that was amazing.
