This is the must go-to bar in Jackson. From the saddle bar stools to the nightly entertainment everything is geared to a great time. The dance floor was very busy and energetic all three times we went here during our stay.

I had read as reviews on Yelp about his bar so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. Love the laid back vibe of this rustic bar. Saddle bar stools are super fun. Our server got our drinks quickly and checked back frequently. We ordered jalapeño poppers from the “Grill” and were disappointed in the quality. Tasted like something frozen you would pop on the oven. I think it is a fun stop if you enjoy country cowboy bars.

The restaurant is downstairs from the bar. It is a surprisingly nice atmosphere. The food was good, but very expensive. It’s gets a 2 Star on Yelp for money, but should be a 3 or 4 Star for the cost. We had elk and they tasted like steak and an 18 ounce strip, but it looked much smaller, it was tasty but not the best steak I ever had for the money. The service was very good. The brownie dessert and fried bread were a nice treat.

We had a reservation and they took us late. All the special John Wayne cuts were gone and many other steaks also were gone, including a basic beef tenderloin. The server got the order wrong for one person and was inattentive. Overall a poor experience and we will not return.

We visited the Cowboy Bar twice during our short stay in Jackson Hole. Once on the Saturday afternoon, and then later that evening. Our afternoon visit provided a great opportunity to sit on the saddle barstools, chat with the friendly barstaff, and appreciate the Western decor. We returned later that evening to check out live music, and see the place hopping with a much bigger crowd.
There's a small cover charge to get in, and live music starts at 9. By 10:30 it was standing room only - and we were there in the off season. The band was great, although they didn't play nearly enough country music. A great experience overall.
