A beautiful resort in an even more beautiful location, the Four Seasons is definitely a great springboard for an outdoorsy holiday. If you're a nature lover like me, it doesn't get much better than the Grand Teton / Yellowstone area! The hotel is right next to a ski lift, and only a short drive away to some great hikes to some very picturesque lakes which I enjoyed checking out. I liked the fact that their outdoor pool / jacuzzi area is open until 10pm, as it's nice to be able to unwind after an active day once the sun has set.
My biggest complaint about the hotel is the fact that for one of my two nights staying there, they'd closed off their only restaurant for a private event, which I think is not right without at least offering a discounted rate for the night, since obviously a restaurant with a full menu is one of the amenities you're paying for at a place like this. The only other option was to eat in their lounge, which has an extremely limited menu with no healthy options (it's mainly burger / fries, pizza, charcuterie that kind of thing). Sure, these are first world problems, but I'm a believer in getting what you pay for and really hate being put in a position where I feel compelled to complain - especially since it usually has to be directed at someone who's not to blame in the first place, and it kind of spoils the vibe of being on holiday. I would have docked a few stars from my review for this, but in fairness to the hotel they offered me fair compensation for the inconvenience so I think they made it right. Having said that, the fact that the hotel was willing to rent out their only restaurant in the first place, without having preempted this by offering discounts to other guests, suggests to me though that the Four Seasons is more concerned about squeezing every penny they possibly can out of the place rather than making sure their guests have the best experience.
