Staff is awesome, friendly and extremely helpful. Located about a mile from Hilo Airport, it is conveniently located . There is a nice pool, and a gym with 3-30lbs dumbbells, a bench, yoga mats, work out bands and two exercise bikes. Free hot coffee and tea in the lobby. Free bikes to ride around town, and paddle boards to use in the bay. All the common spaces are nicely decorated with a modern vibe, and there are many little garden spaces. There is a laundry room.

We stayed in a Premium room facing the bay, on the second floor. The room itself was nicely decorated with a nice view of their garden/fish pond and Hilo Bay. Unfortunately, even though we were on the second floor, the way the building is situated, people on the street, and at the bay park (which was constantly busy with picnics) could look right into the room. Consequently, we had the shades drawn much of the time, and the otherwise nice view, was not enjoyed as much.
Also, as we walked through the building we could see into other rooms on the first floor, that had their jealousies opened. I'm sure guests on the third floor could see into rooms on the second and first floors if the shades were not drawn.

Bottomline, FANTASTIC staff, good older hotel that's been nicely decorated, lots of nice extras, but room privacy can be compromised.

Stayed at this hotel one night only during our visit to big island, Hilo side doesn’t have much options for hotels so I picked this one based on the reviews, I was a bit surprised to see the rooms and it is sort of motel like. We only spent one night so it was sufficient for the night.

- everyone is super nice and helpful
- free coffee and tea in the lobby
- the hotel ambiance is very serene

Negative
- walls are thin, the sounds of airplanes in the morning wakes you up
- the room size is super small, pillows are small and there are only 4 in a room, no extra pillows
- no elevator if you’re on the third floor it’ll be a workout
- it’s a cute hotel that is geared towards minimalist not comfort

Great Hotel for families. They offer free paddleboards, hot chocolate and Yoga class (Saturday). The pool is very nice and the hotel is only a 40 minutes drive to the volcano and Mauna Kea visitor centre.
