We wanted to eat early and were pleasantly surprised that we could get a three course prix fixe dinner fir $49 each. The first course was three appetizers —spicy ahi roll, a spring roll, and a very tasty barbecued rib. The main course choices were macademia nut encrusted mahi with asparagus or a steamed mahi with bok choy, or meatloaf. We had the two versions of the mahi. The macademia nut crusted version was slightly overcooked but still very tasty. The more subtle preparation was more flavorful in our view. For dessert one if us had the macademia nut tart with ice cream and the other had the chocolate souffle with ice cream. Both were great but the chocolate was the real star even though it was more like a chocolate molten cake than a souffle. The service was great and we really had an enjoyable dinner.

This is our fourth visit to Roy's Waikoloa Bar and Grill, and we are always happy with this choice. The location is great, as it is located next to a picturesque lagoon, and it is located very close to the resorts in the Waikoloa area in the King's Shops. The food is always fantastic. I had the salmon and it was delicious. My grandson even liked their short ribs, and he's a very picky eater. Most of the members of our party opted for fish because it's always fresh and well prepared in Roy's kitchen. A visit to Roy's is never complete without the Chocolate soufflé for dessert-at least for many of our party. After a big dinner that's too much for me, so I always opt for the sorbet trio. The lilikoi sorbet is amazingly good. The servers, and chefs at Roy's are well trained in dealing with customers who have food allergies, as we do. It's nice to visit a restaurant where you can order gluten free menu options, and not worry about cross contamination.
I was happy to see that this location still has the prosecco/elderflower cocktail that I love. Other members of our party opted for the traditional Mai Tai. We love Roy's and have visited his restaurants in Las Vegas (now sadly closed), Honolulu, and here in Waikoloa. The service is always great and the food is always well prepared.

Food is quite limited in Waikoloa with mainly only mediocre expensive restaurants. Thankfully we found Roys while on our week long vacation here. The Mahi mahi is some of the best that I have ever had and the staff was super accommodating even offering to make us things that weren’t on the menu

Roy’s never disappoints with their daily selections of fresh local seafood. Good service and a speedy kitchen. Expect higher prices for entrees than the average restaurant...$40 to $50 for entrees. Great wine selections and a good cocktail menu. Not the best restaurant on the Big Island but always a solid choice.
