Lackluster service and outdated rooms. I heard later they have already renovated one tower, however they put us in the farthest tower (Ocean) with popcorn ceilings, and yellow paint and furniture popular in the 80s. The room smelled like mildew. It was on the first floor and you actually have to take the elevator DOWN one floor. It felt like being in the basement. The room had a view of the bottom of the raised golf course green. The fridge didn't work and we had to request a new one. There's a tram which made it feel like we were in vegas, not hawaii, and it's the first thing you see when you walk into the lobby, not a beautiful ocean view typical of most Hawaiian hotels. The tram doesn't come very often, so my husband and I mostly walked the 7-10 minute walk to get to the lobby (I'm a relatively fast walker, and it took me that long). The complimentary shampoos were Crabtree & Evelyn, which I think you can buy at Walmart. We weren't greeted by anyone as we walked in, in fact we parked in the valet and no one was around to protest. We weren't offered help with our bags and ended up lugging them from the parking lot, waiting for a tram and cramming in with the rest of the guests, luggage and all, everyone vying for a precious spot. The front desk woman wasn't rude, but not super welcoming either. She didn't offer up any info on the hotel and we had to ask where things were. The best thing about this hotel is the lagoon, and only because its chock full of turtles. If you want an actual beach though, the closest one is a 20 minute walk to A Bay. I would not stay here again. It seems like it used to be luxurious and upscale but now no one really gives a damn.

Beautiful hotel. Incredibly large. It has everything there you need. One thing though, it is a little busy there. We stayed at Hilton’s Condos at Kings Land. Beautiful condos with 4 pools with tube slides for the kids. We wanted to do our own cooking. It is walking distance to the main hotel and you get to use everything at the main hotel as if you were a guest there. Had a great time and will return next year again.

Mahalo!

My beautiful bride and I arrived as the result of an offer through Hilton Grand Vacations (another name for timeshares!). We had booked a standard room, but what we got was an oceanfront room that was huge! The grounds are beautiful and filled with spiritual themed statuary, which delighted us both. They have both fresh and saltwater pools, and some pools are adult only, which is cool. From our room to the front desk was half a mile. Fortunately they have a tram which runs regularly between these locations and several others around the property. We truly loved our stay.
That being said, the food and drink is outrageously priced. Stop at Costco when you leave the airport and stock up on water ($3.00 per bottle) and snacks. Not all rooms have an ocean view. Many are "resort view" which isn't bad, but the ocean views are fantastic.
Driving from the airport was anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour. Kona is the other direction so add a little extra travel time for those snorkel trips you want to take.
This resort is not for the budget minded, but if you have a little extra coin you can fill your days with a whole lot of joy.

Room Tip: See if you can get placed in the Ocean Towers if you want an ocean view.

We only stayed one night at this hotel. The price is expensive, but overall to compare to other resorts, the price I feel it is ok. Big resorts with trains and boats. We live in Lagoo Tower. The room is big, clean and modern, and patrial occean view. The bed is really good, not that soft. Lots of Asian culture in the resort. Lots of activities it can be follow. If you never been this resort, it is worth to try once. Maybe not the whole week, but 2 nights or more are recommended. You can find lots of hot spots in this hotel which is unique and cannot find in the other hotels or resorts. The staff is nice. Sissi from Asian customer service answered all the questions we have. We arrived earlier than the check in time, one room is ready but another room is not. So she text me the message when the room is ready. So I don't need to come back to the reception desk to ask. The restaurant is good and price is normal compare to the restaurants similar in other resorts in Bahamas.
