The Beach Boy is not one of your typical large sprawling resorts on the Islands. Centrally located on the eastern shore, it has its own fabulous restaurant, the Hukilou Lanai, a poolside bar, fabulous view of the sunrise and very friendly staff. Rooms are nicely decorated and the grounds neatly kept. The Coconut Marketplace is next door where a farmers market takes place each Tuesday morning. Groceries are a mile away. Walk the shoreline in either direction, enjoying the trade winds away from the usual tourist crowds. The beach is not for swimming as the surf can be rough and the lava rocks are not easy on the feet. It’s worth being away from the crowds. It is Hawaii!

Room Tip: No elevator service however able bodied young men will hoist bags to your room. Third floor is also top floor.

Aloha:
Thank you very much for taking the time to share with us how much you enjoyed your stay. One of our guests recently described us as their “perfect paradise” and we loved that description! We are indeed the hidden tropical oasis where our guests love to relax and enjoy our spacious accommodations, super ocean views, lush tropical grounds, and beautiful pool deck with Jacuzzi and barbeque grills, and our amazing east-side sunrises! We get many rave reviews about the Hukilau Lanai restaurant, which is one of the most popular restaurants on the island and their menu features local Kauai products and produce, so they truly support our local farmers. We really appreciate your very kind comments, which we have passed along to our staff. We are so pleased we are one of your favorite places! Our Kauai Coast ‘ohana is very much looking forward to welcoming you back soon.

The Beachboy has it all! Awesome location, wake up to the waves almost out your front door, sunrise warming your face while sipping Kona coffee on your Lanai. Breakfast in their top notch restaurant or just a short drive to many local restaurants for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Lounge by the swimming pool and have awesome drinks at the pool bar. I could go on and on with all of their myriad of things to do. You will not be disappointed!

Wow, heaven….we have been called a “perfect paradise too”! We do have a wonderful location - oceanfront on the Royal Coconut Coast with our lush and relaxing tropical oasis at the pool area with spa, hammocks and BBQ grills and really central for visiting all parts of our beautiful island. We look forward to welcoming you again soon!

Kapaa is a wonderful central location for exploring Kauai. The Beachboy has generously proportioned rooms and at first glance looked like a fabulous hotel. As there was a wait for the concierge after check-in (purportedly to obtain our parking pass) they happily sent us off to settle in. When I returned for the parking pass I instead received a strong time-share sales pitch. Despite a firm decline of their invitation we received numerous phone calls during our stay encouraging us to come and pick up our "welcome package". I should have done more research - we usually avoid time-share properties for this reason.
However, we were quite happy with the property and its amenities until the washing machine and dryer in our room weren't working properly, the top rack of the dishwasher fell into my arms (while fully laden) as it was broken on both sides, the patio screen door fell off twice and then a third time on my daughter and there was a funky smell in the master bathroom - not awful, but like lasagna cooking with lots of garlic! Very strange. The staff took copious notes but basically said no maintenance was being done while they were waiting for the contractors to come back and finish the renovation project (building 3 - Canoe - appears not to have been started. After the bathtub faucet finally broke altogether and was gushing water, that was fixed and we were offered a renovated room. However, it wasn't available until the last two nights of our stay so we didn't bother packing up all our luggage and food and trekking over two buildings and up flights of stairs. We were comp'd a lovely meal in the restaurant to make amends for the inconvenience which was a much appreciated gesture. So I'd likely revisit the property but not for 12 months or so when the renovation should be complete!

Nice facilities. Get an ocean or garden view poolside. We loved our room on the second floor. We had a view of the garden, pool and ocean from our balcony. Also, we only had to walk up one flight of low-rise stairs as there is no elevator in this facility.
At check-in you are required to see the concierge to get a "parking pass", but this is a sales pitch to schedule activities and a time-share presentation. We spent nearly an hour there. You should not need a parking pass because they take your license plate number at the front counter. We forgot to put our parking pass on the dash for several nights and nothing happened.
The pool has a beautiful waterfall but the pool itself was not as big as I expected a resort to have.
There is also no beach access. You have to walk to the resort next door to get to the beach and then you shouldn't swim in the surf. There are warning signs about unsafe conditions like strong currents. This was very disappointing to me.
The facility was very quiet, which may have been due to the rain we had all week. But my wife was very pleased with the well-equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom, and luxurious bed! The bed seemed even bigger than the king we have and it was very comfortable.
However, the sofa and chair in the living room were not comfortable. Very hard and unforgiving for older bones.

Room Tip: Ocean or poolside garden view

The property was beautiful. The pool was beautiful, designed to look very natural. It was quite big with a waterfall. They also have a gorgeous view of the Pacific and an area that you can lay out on lounge chairs or hammocks. The one bedroom was perfect, with a full kitchen in which you could easily cook a full meal. The bathroom was large with double sinks. The bedroom had plenty of closet and dresser space and it's own entrance to the lanai. The lanai was a double space with entrances from both the living room and bedroom. The restaurant on the property was EXCELLENT. The food exceptional. It was great to have such fine dining at reasonable prices right on the property. All the restaurants within walking distance of the property were fantastic. The location of the property was so convenient for access to the entire island. Having the one bedroom was perfect. It was like we had our own home at the resort. Super friendly, kind and accommodating staff.
