We needed a place for one night in Lihue before traveling to Princeville for our daughter's wedding and stayed here. This was one of the most welcoming, comfortable, happy experiences I can recall. My husband and I agree, we can hardly wait to return to this wonderful place!

Bedding is very comfortable, it is air conditioned, the room comes with a microwave and refrigerator, coffeemaker, real plates, cups and silverware. The owners and managers are a joy. There is a delicious, complimentary basket in the room, and much more complimentary food in the office. They even offer free use of beach towels, boogie boards, dvds, and much more!

We stayed in the condo, not the hotel but check in is with the same ladies. How lovely are you, nothing was to much trouble. So welcoming and helpful.
This is very good value as kauai is expensive.
The condo is within a complex of other holiday rentals/homes. It's a good size, it was just my husband and I but it could accommodate a small family. Everything for a self catering holiday is provided too. House keeping is every 3 days, more if required but we loved the privacy. It was like being at home but with better weather!!
Make use of the pool too. It's was very quiet during our time there.
It's not a major chain group of hotels and that's what makes it better.

It is so nice to read your review! We are so glad you loved staying in our condo option. Just like the hotel we want you to enjoy lots of tropical art, clean and comfortable bedding and rooms. The views, pool, BBQ, tennis courts are easy options to hang and relax while receiving all the amenities of the hotel. Thank you so much for staying with us, wonderful to know you had a warm welcome. Aloha, hope to see you again soon. Lis & Steve Layne

If you don't need to be at a resort on the beach, this is your place. The Aloha Spirit is alive and well with every single person we came across. They are all so eager to accommodate your every need. Rooms are artsy and super clean. Light snacks and fruit for breakfast, although one morning the owner treated us to Hawaiian pumpkin pie....homemade pumpkin pie smothered with whipped cream, fresh coconut, pineapple and blueberries. And when I was settling up at the front desk, Cherie wanted to know "where's your lovely wife?" I told her she was out putting some things in the car and she jumped up so she could give her a hug before we left. It is that kind of place. Don't miss it. It's wonderful!

The lovely and animated Garden Island Inn in Nawiliwili in Kauai was bright , clean , friendly, and welcoming. At reception you can literally pick your own bananas! They hang just above the koi pond inside reception. Each room has unique paintings and unique door painting.

The grounds are a delight with turtles and fish sculptures in the walkways and garden where you can relax and hang out in the shade. Ideally located next to Banyan Harbor and across from Anchor Cove shopping and restaurants. Kalapaki Beach across the way is only minutes to walk to.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Shout out to Cheri for her help for our future bookings - we'll be back! Enjoy your own visit!

I just spent 6 days in room 5 (also called 105) on the first floor of this charming inn. It reminds me of the old inns in Palm Springs and in Guerneville here in Northern California. Please note that it is NOT in competition with the St. Regis and the like. Unlike those hotels you can park very near your room and my room included a tiny efficiency kitchen with sink, small fridge and microwave. Also a few dishes and silverware. My room had louvered windows for daytime tropical breezes, ceiling fan PLUS ac for nighttime comfort. Some of the most expensive hotels lack ac!!! This is very near the ship harbor and Talapaki beach. There are multiple restaurant options near by including the up-scale Duke's just across the street. Being a vegetarian and disliking rich restaurant food I was pleased to find a large, new Safeway 2 miles up the hill from the inn. A rental car was a must for me. Keep in mind the inn the equidistant from Koke'e peak to the west and Ke'e beach to the north. I visited both more than once.
The staff here are delightful and the one time a problem emerged it was resolved IMMEDIATELY! Maid service was as good as it gets!
The garden is cute and inviting with lawn chairs plus chairs and tables for outside dining.
Prior reviews tell the tale and do not lie!
I would easily consider staying here again.

"Sweet as Pie" We adore your title! We enjoy preparing our fresh tropical pumpkin pie along with picked fresh fruit from the banana patch, and gourmet coffee in the mornings. Thank you for the description of room 5, (105). The garden level rooms are well equipped albeit smaller than the first and second floors rooms. Our location is great for sightseeing and living local with Kalapaki Beach and many great food options, so glad you got to explore the many wonders of Kauai. We look forward to your return.
Aloha, Lis & Steve Layne
