Walked on the beach and watched the beginner surfers and some locals with body boards. Nice sand but surf was high was a good undertow.

this is a great walking beach; that is, if you want to walk this beach is cool! Do you surf? This beach is for you!
See that cliff right there? Go ahead and try to dive off that thing . Otherwise, you may have to just get in the car (cuz you are staying at the Hyatt) and go to Poipu beach if you want to snorkel or just wade in the water.

This is one of our favorite beaches in Kauai for body surfing and body boarding. But...... if you don't know what you are doing on a bigger day it will eat your lunch. My buddy got straight up sand blasted off a 7 foot face, nothing between him and the sand but air. His day was over. Another time my teenage daughter thought they could hang when it was smaller and a rip current got them and pulled them to the rocks. A couple cool local guys with fins took off after my 17 year olds(they look 20) to help them back....Hmmm. All and all not a great beach for kids but a blast if you know your way around the ocean.

A great beach with high surf. Nice to sit by to hear the waves! Just a few families when I was there and there were some local kids jumping off the cliff. Oh to be young again!! Be sure to plan lots of time for the hike, as it is unforgettable!!!

This is a gorgeous beach but a little rough. The turtles love it here! We could have watched them swim all day!
