When you're on vacation, sometimes it's just simpler to eat what's close by. It's a pleasant surprise when the food is good and the view is breathtaking! Situated in Kihei right on the beach, 5 Palms is essentially a hotel restaurant. For anyone staying at the Days Inn next door, be sure to utilize the 20% off discount for all meals!

We walked over for breakfast with the aim of relaxing at the beach afterward. It was so beautiful, we sat at the table enjoying the view a long time. The entire restaurant and bar is an outdoor lanai; shady and out of the sun, yet with a full open view to Kaho'olawe and Lana'i off the coast. The chairs are comfortable; the restaurant organized so everyone gets a view.

The menu has savory, healthy, and splurge breakfast options. The iced tea was refreshing. Prices are typical for what you'd expect in a touristy area, a little high for the portion and quality. Despite this, we enjoyed our breakfasts.

Service here was okay; it got friendly the longer we stayed. It would be easy to spend a day at the beach and hotel and just eat here for a meal or two. We'd definitely come back!

We visited the 5 palms restaurant because we had heard they had a great happy hour. We were not disappointed as drinks, a smaller version of their sushi menu and appetizers were all half off. We had the spicy tuna roll and it was outstanding. The mai tai’s were also very good. Happy hour runs from 3-9 (yes 6 hours)!

The happy hour sushi here is the best deal on the island. Great quality at an affordable price. Stunning views and good drinks too!

We finally found a happy hour with an appy hour. Most places we visited only had drink specials. We had Beers, Mai Tia's, plus other drink selections were available. Varied appy menu and good food and service. Open patio with bar and table seating over looking the ocean. We will go back.

Sarah our server was excellent, but the crispy whole fish was a disappointment. We got into the experience but realized the fish was dry and hard to eat without using your fingers - concept is great, eating it needs refinement. However, the vegetables that came with it were dreamy.
