We not only had a blast driving through the mountain, we learned so much! Stopped a couple of times for great pics and views, and about the history of the reservation and other islands to travel to
Our guides Geoffrey and Jeff were super chill. Geoffrey grew up in Hawaii and dropped a generous helping of local knowledge. Jeff was super knowledgeable about the impact of the former pineapple plantations on the local ecosystem. Guides are paid by tips so bring cash and be generous. Sad to see the damage the plantations done but good to see we can help even a little. Oh yeah and the off-roading is fun for the whole family even if you do that back home (ride MX myself). It’s not a full-throttle experience but lots of twisty fun turns. Machines are kept in good condition, are reasonably powerful(operating in eco-mode), and have decent suspension for conditions. Such a great privilege to operate these machines in such an amazing location. Tour is 2 hours and the right length for non off-road passengers and drivers.
Our guides were very knowledgeable and personable. If you can find a discount, I suggest using it. The views were spectacular though.
The guides were great and gave us a lot of information about the reforestation efforts and neighboring islands. The trail ride was fun and we would highly recommend!
Super fun time driving the ATV's up into the mountain and learning about the island and its topography. Beautiful views as we got lucky with a completely clear day.
It was very dusty due to the lack of rain the island is experiencing so plan for wearing a face mask or something to keep the dust out of your mouth and nose. I will say that the seatbelts are very uncomfortable if you are a woman with a larger chest because it rises up and rubs on your neck.
