Six of us dined at The Burning Tree last night. We have been eating there for many years and always enjoyed it, but this meal was sensational. The menu has expanded and each dish was original and delicious. Highlights included the chard and mussel combination, stuffed squid, the squid in miso, and the five spice chocolate cake. Service was excellent; price was right given the quality of the ingredients and the glorious recipes.

When we found the Burning Tree restaurant, it looked like a hole in the way. We quickly realized that The Burning Tree was very much in demand. Fortunately, we made reservations because the host politely turned away at least a dozen people while we waited to be seated. Parking was a challenge.
I would agree with one reviewer that the food is eclectic, yet our dinner was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable. I would recommend the Burning Tree for dining.

The restaurant has charm. Beautiful landscapes and quaint. They don't separate checks for large groups, and that can be a problem.
Stick to the basics and don't get the Swiss chard dish. Sometimes, it can be over done. The menu on line doesn't reflect current prices. They have increased the entrees by around $10.

Burning Tree is an eclectic restaurant with a surprisingly sophisticated menu. Fresh local ingredients are used (so fresh, you won't see blueberry pie on the menu until blueberries are actually in season).

Restaurant a bit out of town but well worth a short trip. Service was superb, but the fish we had was really really good. Need to book and a lot of local regulars, which I always think is a good sign
