Owner description: Center of the long-gone hippie culture of the 1960s, this trendy neighborhood is now a whole new scene with upscale boutiques, Internet cafes and hip restaurants.

Ok, so its an icon of the hippie revolution... in reality, its just another street in SFO with homeless peeps hanging about...

Don't tell me this town ain't got no heart. Great place for teens, twenty-somethings, hippies, hipsters, urban hikers, and heads to hang out.

Lots of young single women shopping in the boutiques here. Fun to go once just to see the area and then hop on into Golden Gate Park at the end of Haight St.

Full of boomer tourists still trying to live the dream. They are pretty terrible. There used to be a Gap at the corner of Height and Ashbury now there is a Ben and Jerry's. Amoeba is here, that is nice. Don't give the gutter punks any money, they will just spend it on piercings and tattoos. Go look at the Grateful Dead house if you must. Lower Height is ok, just go there if you want to drink or eat.

Being born and raised in San Francisco, I've witnessed many neighborhood transformations. The Haight has gone through its share the most famous of which occurred during the lat '50s and '60s. with the Beatnik/Hippie revolution involving the era of coffee houses, flower children and psychedelic drugs.Today the area is a hip trendy district with a myriad of small bistros, eateries and other entertainment night spots.
