The restoration of the palace has been beautiful. The setting is very pretty and there are always wedding parties here to take photos

“Beautiful! Locals should revisit this renovated landmark.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 February 2012

Our visiting family had taken a "Hop On Hop Off" bus tour, but it did not include views of the Palace of Fine Arts. So after dinner one evening my husband and I took them there, and they loved it's "old world" beauty. It was my first visit since the multi-million $ renovation, and I thought it was stunning - the new pathways, landscaping, and lighting were wonderful.

“Breathtakingly beautiful!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2012

This is an absolute delight to visit. Originally built for the Pan Pacific Expo, I can't believe anyone ever thought this work of art could be torn down. It sits in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood and it is a rare day, sunny or cloudy, when you won't find a wedding party having their photos taken. Children will love to feed the ducks and swans, couples will love to wander the path around the pond, others will love watching the variety of wildlife around and in the water, photographers will love everything about this site! Do not leave this out of your visit to SF. It is a relaxing oasis in a busy city.

“My FAVORITE part of San Francisco”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2012

I cannot believe that they originally intended to tear down this relic of the 1915 World's Fair. It's amazing to me that something so large and detailed was built so long ago. I realize many structures like this exist in Europe - it's just rare to see it in the States (that's why I like it). I try to visit the Palace of Fine Arts every time I come to San Francisco. I love it there because it is so huge, yet peaceful. I love to watch the variety of birds (herons, ducks, swans, coots, geese, pigeons), they are unusual to see in the residential area.

“Picturesque and unexpected attraction”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 February 2012

This historical pavilion was build for the 1915 Panama Pacific exposition, and over the years has been moved around and repurposed to be a family-friendly attracting with walkways and a duck pond. Great place to take wedding photos, as well.
