I always try to stop in when I'm in town for the pork buns and the custard tarts. the rest of the dim sum offering is always fantastic and if I have an hour or more I love to sit and enjoy the show and the yummy food.

I've been to restaurant several times and overall it is probably on of the best choices for DimSum in town. I did not find the food as solid as other times. I hope to return to learn that I was just a little unlucky that day.

The best Dim Sum is at Yank Sing. You can try all at China Town, but for quality, cleanliness and service Yank Sing is the place. It is a little pricy for Dim Sum but you will not be disappointed. I make it a point to eat here on every visit.

The dim sum dishes are generally good to very good. However, the dumplings are too "meaty", making them harder than authentic Cantonese dumplings. The restaurant most likely makes them that way to fit Western taste. The only excellent dish is the Shanghainese Xiao Long Pao. Prices are way above comparable dim sum restaurant in the Bay Area. Dishes like Siu Mai, Har Gaw, etc. are $11.50 each. Spring Rolls come only in 4 per dish and also cost $11.50. Top restaurants are only about half of Yang Sing. The most bothering is the servers' eagerness to clear the table to make room for waiting yuppies. They kept on asking us "anything else?" We had to ask for more water refill for tea. Dim Sum Lunch/Brunch is meant to enjoy good conversation while drinking good tea and eating tasty snacks. Not to shove down the food by washing it down with a cup or two of tea. There are several other more authentic dim sum restaurants around the Bay.

I love dimsum and this place didn't disappoint. The carts are filled to the brim with delicious choices - from peking duck, lettuce cups, shrimp hargow...and oh steamed dumplings (all sorts - including the one with soup inside)...as well as steamed buns, sesame balls filled with sweet bean paste and this soft rice cake type dessert with piped in coconut filling then rolled in fine coconut flakes...YUMMY! The staff rolling the carts are more than happy to tell you what the dishes are - what's inside the dumplings and so on. In addition to the carts, some staff walk to each table with a special dish (e.g. honey walnut shrimp..yum!) and you may also order a la carte for items on their menu. I really liked that they had vegetarian options as well.

The service at Stevenson St. is far better than the other location. Staff is friendlier and I think the restaurant is cleaner.

Definitely make a reservation (there was a wait by the time we left), come hungry, and with other people so that you can try the variety of dishes they offer. Though pricier than Chinatown dimsum places, the quality, taste, and preparation of food is far better. Would definitely come back!
