This little restaurant is located in the heart of all the action on Chestnut. Arriving without a reservation on a Saturday night, we were greeted by a very friendly front desk woman, later learning she is an owner. We scored with the front table that opens on to Chestnut. We skipped ordering an appetizer and went straight to ordering chicken chow mein, savory sweet stir fried beef, crystal prawns, kung pao and streamed rice. I noticed a lighter touch with the dishes, a good thing. The stir fried beef was a bit too sweet for our tastes (this is our error because "sweet" is in the title and we should have known better!). The crystal prawns lacked a lot of sauce flavor but the flavor of the prawns themselves came through but was just a little plain. I will admit to always wanting to find Kung Pao chicken that matches my favorite from another restaurant. This Kung Pao was good, just did not match my favorite. But good food overall. What sets this place apart is their service. Our water glasses were refilled constantly and our waitperson was so attentive. Meanwhile, the owner continued to greet each new patron and phone call with the same friendly and welcoming manner. This was a pleasure to see and we look forward to a return visit.
