The staff had no interest in us. We stopped just to have a stopping place and didn't know that the point was the house dug into the hillside, which we consequently never saw. We went in both the trinket stores, but found nothing of interest. Cutesy.

For a few bucks you can get a guided tour of a huge house built into the side of the rock mountain. The history of the builders and the house is super weird, and the facts about the place and the items still in it just get weirder and weirder. The gift shop and the grounds around the outside of the house and the general store and trading post are all free to visit and have snacks and souvenirs on sale. There's a decent amount of parking and exploring the whole area doesn't take too long but is definitely worth the trip if you're in the Moab area!

We came across this before going to the Arches. This is such a interesting place - make sure you take the tour to see inside the house that a husband made for his wife inside the huge rock - it was so worth the 12 min tour.

So much to see! You could easily spend a few hours here looking at quirky stuff. From old Route 66 signs, to funny and unique items someone made. The gift shop is IN the rock...completely amazing. We loved it, and highly recommend.

We were traveling from Cortez to Moab and it was just a nice place to stop. We decided to do the tour of the house and it was worth every penny. (6.50) Very interesting!!!
