Ranked #20 of 37 Hotels in Moab
Reviewed 25 July 2017

Visited Moab with my family for the first time and I had to leave a comment to warn others.

I was sold on this hotel due to the price along with the understanding that the hotel was recently renovated. BEWARE THAT THIS HOTEL IS STILL UNDER RENOVATION.

While there didn't seem to be construction going on while we were there, there's no way that they are finished. I'm not sure what the situation is but everything about the whole motel (it's not a hotel) is stuck in the middle of some kind of transformation that seems to lack an identity.

The lobby/entrance was incredibly hot and had what appeared to be painted plywood in the corner? We walked up to the desk and had to get the attention of the person sitting behind the front desk who seemed much more involved in her phone than checking us in.

When we got to the room, the bedroom was nicely decorated but there are some strange features in the room. The bed, linen, and floors were all great but the plastic green/blue fridge and microwave are just off, not to mention the weird little red tables and chairs. This is where the "renovation" ends. The bathrooms look as though they're 20+ years old and clearly weren't touched. The overall cleanliness of everything wasn't great either.

The ice machine was usually blocked with boxes or dirty linen.

The pool was great but definitely could use some work (still one of the only highlights)

Our only interaction with staff was during check-in and check-out. The check-in girl may as well have been a robot. The lady with curly hair at check-out seemed much more engaged but it didn't really seem like anyone at this place was in charge. Everyone was just kind of going through their routines.

I took a chance on this and wouldn't again. I've stayed at plenty of budget motels before and I understand the sentiment of getting what you paid for, but this isn't a cheap place to stay when you look at the other options and it certainly wasn't worth what I paid for.

Room Tip: Don't stay here, at least until they have finished whatever they are doing.

Hello Kimobatu,

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on your stay. I want to first apologize about your experience at our hotel. We recently renovated all the rooms, but are still working on renovating the rest of the property. We are working to quickly finish our lobby, complimentary breakfast area, and arcade room. This winter we will be doing even more renovations specifically to the bathrooms. I want to apologize for your experience at check-in. That was not acceptable and is not our standard. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the pool, but we will also be working on it this winter. As a team, we strive to engage with all of our guests to make sure they enjoy their time with us. We are truly sorry that is not the experience you had during your stay. I would love to invite you back once the renovations are fully completed. The next time you are in the area please reach out to me so I can personally take care of your accommodations. Thank you again for your time and very valuable feedback.

This place has delusions of adequacy. We paid lots of money - expected a resort. First, the renovations are not completed and there is no lobby, no restaurant, no anything.
The bathrooms are partially renovated. The bathtub from the ‘70s was gross with rust, staff poured javel down the drain and said it was not rust but drain cleaner. Either way the bathtub was unusable as such. Shower was alright until it ran ice cold when someone elsewhere was presumably getting my hot water. Not even a soap holder in the shower. Vanity is 30” wide - where are you supposed to put your stuff? No comfortable chair or proper lighting to read with. Flimsy little table and chairs which look like children’s furniture. No dresser. Beds and linens are okay. Walk up from outside staircase, guests smoking on shared balconies. Felt really ripped off. Was paying for a nice property, didn’t find it here. They bought cutesy gadgets, dial-look phone, replica old style fridge & microwave. Cheaped out where it matters.

Service was excellent. The pool looked fun with a water slide but due to the sand storm we couldn't enjoy. The rooms updated with the exception of the bathroom yet very functional! Almost too much water pressure in the shower :)

We stayed there for 2 days, not far from Canyonland and Arches National Park.
Lots of restaurant and bar around. Clean, new furniture, and free breakfast as well.
All hotel is very expensive around Moab, they are not cheap, but less price than the other hotel around Moab.

Room Tip: Higher floor is better

My son and I stayed here the Monday of Memorial Day weekend while headed west

Pros
Good size room
Good location in town, you can walk to restaurants
Frig, microwave and table
Nice staff
Comfortable beds

Cons
While they updated the main room the bathrooms are ancient, not retro. See the lovely green fixtures in the pictures. I didn't love looking down that gross uncovered drain hole while showering

Windows only have wood blinds. The light in the walkway was right outside our window. Even w the blinds shut the light seeped in. It was like sleeping with a light on.

Kids screaming in the pool till really late. It's open till midnight

Price. It was over $200 and certainly not worth it
