My roommate and I booked the Sweet Suite based on the description that it was good for up to 3 people because it had a pull-out sofa bed. However, that sofa bed was like a torture device with the bars underneath the mattress making it impossible to sleep and tough to move the next day. I ended up just sleeping on the couch during our stay because my roommate has some serious back problems and staying on the couch, pulled out or not, would have really put her in pain. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable, so if you are traveling with someone you intend on sharing a bed with, it should be fine. If not, check with the owners to see if the couch has been replaced. Ian did say he would look into getting a futon instead. The sponge by the sink smelled horrible, and whenever we opened the cupboards to get a glass, that smell would hit us like a brick. Must be the dishes were washed with that stinky sponge. We bought a new sponge, washed a few glasses, and left them out for the remainder of our stay. The owners are early risers, and the sound really travels into the Sweet Suite, but Beth does provide ear plugs that you can use. There is a lot of good information in the binder that Beth & Ian have in the Sweet Suite for guests that may be helpful for those wondering where to find a good meal or what to do in Asheville. You will have to drive to anything you want to do as they are located in North Asheville, which is a residential area. We used Uber several times, which cost between $7 and $10 each way (not including tip) to get downtown or to West Asheville. So if you're traveling as a couple, and plan on driving yourself around, the Sweet Suite should be fine for you.
We city dwellers truly enjoyed every minute of our memorable stay. The countryside setting in a hilly, forested landscape combined perfectly with all that Asheville offers as a city.
Apt is perfect for vacationers - simply furnished & immaculately clean. First time we had used an induction cooktop but it did the job incredibly fast.
Hosts are welcoming, helpful & accommodating. All in all, our needs were very well met & our expectations were surpassed. Thank you both for a wonderful time!
Sweet Suite is located on a quiet tree-lined street. The apartment is quite comfortable, spotless, and spacious with lots of amenities. Everything is up-to-date. It is centrally located to shopping, restaurants, and attractions.
The Sweet Suite is indeed Sweet! The apartment is very roomy and attractive as well as comfortable with all the privacy one needs for a special getaway or a relaxing vacation. It is convenient to Asheville and the Blue Ridge parkway. The proprietors have also included menus and other information about the area which is easy to access and came in very handy in planning our week. A grocery store is convenient if one prefers to eat in, and the unit provides basic cooking facilities, including dishes and cookware.
It is highly recommended when compared to the cost of a hotel in the area. The proprietors have done a great job at making their guests comfortable in this little home away from home.
