Owner description: This Italian neighborhood, Boston's oldest, is known for its wonderful restaurants and historic sights. Walk the cobblestone streets to take in the architecture and aromas of delicious food, and visit Paul Revere's house and the Old North Church while you're in the neighborhood.

One of Boston's oldest neighborhoods. History is on every streetcorner. Great restaurants, cafes, and bakeries line the streets. For a look into Little Italy, wander the side streets. In the summer, there is a great street Fiesta nearly every week.

I lived in the North End twice (once for two years, and then a few years later, a different apartment for one year). The food everywhere is amazing. Doesn't matter if it's a celebrity chef restaurant or a hole-in-the-wall. I've had them all and can say each place is amazing. Modern Pastry is my fave for dessert, though Mike's is great as well. Jest a heads up, foot traffic triples in the summertime die to tourists, so plan a few extra minutes to make your way down Hanover Street! If you're visiting town, you don't need an entire day to explore the North End; nearby areas within walking distance for before/after include Faneuil Hall, Beacon Hill, and Seaport.

The North End is an iconic neighborhood, lots of brick houses, sidewalks, and many Italian restaurants and dessert shops. I cannot give it 5 stars because the place has been overrun by tourists. Waiting time at the best restaurants and pastry shops is deterring. Would I recommend going there? Hell yes, it is worth the hassle to experience the North End at least once.

If you're looking for great Italian food or a great Italian experience then look no farther. We visit this area every time we're in Boston. The shop owners are the real deal.
So if you're after a slice of pizza or a full blown Italian meal, this is the place to go.

This is such a fun neighborhood to just stroll around and take in the sigjts. Great restaurants abound and everyone is so friendly. They really have a tight community here. The Freedom Trail goes through it so be sure to take some side tours when you get to this area.
