Understandably a busy Saturday. But waited over a half hour while wait staff walked by, never acknowledged us and still no service. Left. Business lost.

This place had terrible service. I completely understand when kitchen is backed up or understaffed but NO reason drinks can’t be served. Our first server took our drink order (one drink was a water) and after 25 minutes still no drink. I walked up to the bar and found out our order had not even been placed. A second server saw us just sitting at our table and came and asked us if we had ordered. I said we placed an order 30 minutes prior and she apologized and took our drink order again. Unfortunately we never got our drinks from her either. Finally a third server got our drinks. Eventually the 1st server came back after we had been there an hour and then remembered to go check on our appetizer. When meal finally came out one of the sandwiches bread was burnt. The staff acted as if we were inconveniencing them. Terrible experience and will not visit again.

I am very sorry to hear that you had poor service at Canal Street after a TD Garden event. We pride ourselves on taking care of guests before and after events here and across town at Fenway. It sounds like everything went amiss. We will take your post and review with the management and staff at Canal and work harder to make sure it doesn't happen for future guests. once again, i apologize for the poor service. sincerely,

This restaurant has become my “go to” before events at the TD Garden. The food is freshly prepared and there is a good variety on the menu. Staff are pleasant and helpful, always mindful of customer’s timetable without rushing the meal. Nachos are delicious, chili is excellent and I am in love with the fried chicken sandwich. Burgers and mac’n’cheese (a new menu addition) are also very good. It’s certainly not a fancy atmosphere and the smaller tables are a bit jammed in, but prices are reasonable. There is an extensive beer list. Recently, the restaurant switched to serving only locally made liquors which is a bit disappointing on the bourbon/whiskey selection. Still, it is one of the better pubs on Canal street. The place does tend to fill up before events so be sure to get there on the earlier side if you don’t want to have a long wait. (At 5:45 on a recent Tuesday night —Bruins game was the event—the wait was 30 minutes for 2 people. Arriving before 5:30 there is typically not a wait)

Stopped in for a flight and chowder. Great place for both. They have good beer so this is a worthwhile stop when in Boston
