Had breakfast there yesterday and the food was excellent. Quiche was great - recommend you try it. Nice location for people watching and it would be awesome in the summer when the windows are open for open-air effect. Casual with a little upscale feeling. Like being in a Paris cafe in the front and fancier in the back part of the restaurant.

Our family of 7 met at this restaurant and were treated like royalty by a staff that wants to please. The brunch menu was varied and had choices for all. We took advantage of the variety and selected traditional and somewhat exotic. All and all, a pleasant experience that is worth repeating.

Friendly staff. I had a nice Bad Martha ale and the pork sandwich, which was delicious. If I could improve the pork sandwich, I would suggest a little green leafy vegetable to balance out the carbs, but mostly it was just delicious.

I made the hour-long drive to Boston to visit a dear old friend who was in town for a conference. She was at the Sheraton and, while I have been to Boston a few times, I was unfamiliar with this area. A big THANK YOU to Lisa at the Concierge Desk at the Sheraton for taking the time to recommend a place where my friend and I could grab a delicious bite (hers being of the meatless variety) within a short walk of the Sheraton as the weather had suddenly turned soggy.

And so began our Lazy Late Afternoon Lunch at Sonsie on Newberry Street.

Let's start with a shout out to Sean - our enthusiastic waiter who has obviously enjoyed each and every item on the menu. We began by letting him know we were in no hurry and, in fact, were planning on lounging at his station for good food and a long overdue old fashioned conversation between friends. His response was to recommend that we start with Bobbing for Apples off the cocktail menu - warm local organic cider with spiced rum and star anise. The chill was instantly removed from our bones and conversation flowed.

We opted to share a pizza from the Lite Fare Menu - an absolutely delicious 3 cheese ricotta, mozzarella and feta accented with spinach and garlic confit. The crust was thin perfection that held the toppings and offered the satisfying crunch that is music to every pizza lover's ears!

As with any long overdue conversation - it's time for coffee and a little something sweet. Sean - thanks for the fresh brew! As for a little something sweet... we couldn't make up our minds so we chose a lot of something sweet!

Warm chocolate bread pudding with whipped cream and chocolate sauce was lick the plate good (we didn't actually lick the plate but it so so tempting)! The entire dish was like a dream - light and airy. The pumpkin napoleon was a delightful surprise with seasonal flavors and spices. And who could forget the warm apple tart - soft buttery pastry surrounding a perfectly spiced apple filling?

The atmosphere was simply perfect! We enjoyed the eclectic mix of music that played softly in the background but just loud enough that a few tracks elicited memories from our youth. Beautifully lit to take advantage of the vintage ceiling tiles and warm wood tones - we enjoyed every sip, every bite and every note.

My family and I visited Boston for a couple of days in October, and a friend of ours recommended this restaurant for dinner. I was surprised that the restaurant was packed on a Wednesday night - for me it meant that the food must be excellent. Without meaning to exaggerate, I had the best salmon e v e r! The service was quick and the staff were friendly. It was a bit pricey but totally worth it! Highly recommended!!
